Maiko found Mamoru on his bed, sleeping. Hercules was right by his bedside on the floor, sleeping as well. He woke up to Maiko padded footsteps, tongue lolling, and she coaxed him back to sleep.

It was so rare to find Mamoru asleep. She knew he felt vulnerable a lot, but he was asleep now.

Sunlight from the sunset filtered through the window and gave his pale face a golden glow. There were no furrowed lines on his brows or harsh set of his mouth.

Just Mamoru in his uniform.

Maiko gently took off his house slippers and his jacket, setting them aside neatly. She fixed his posture (as best as she could with her nonathletic body) and tucked him in, closing one of the curtains.

He must have been exhausted since he didn't even stir.

Maiko knew he might panic if he woke up in a changed position, so she put her school bag at his desk and did her homework there.
