"I'm gonna be alright"

I'll say a thousand times

Until it takes over my mind

And I think I'm (I'm gonna be alright)

"Shh, you'll wake him."

"But we're supposed to wake up now?"

"Just let him sleep for a few minutes."

The chatter flies over his head as sleep lingers lazily in his mind. He dozes in and out of reality, strangely comfortable in the warm summer morning. Then there's a hand on his shoulder, gently rocking him.

I won't talk about it enough to make it real

My insides are shouting but I can barely hear, yeah (Woo)

"Mamoru." Someone whispers once, then twice when he doesn't stir. "Mamoru, it's time to wake up."

The moment he wakes fully is marked by the deep inhale he takes as he cracks open his eyes against the filtered sunlight. Ennoshita kneels before him, looking somewhat fond. "Good morning," he says, smiling.

"G'morning." His voice is hoarse from disuse and he clears it once as he struggles to sit up. There's a distinct feeling of embarrassment when he realizes he's the only one still in bed. He starts to stammer out some sort of apology, but Ennoshita shakes his head and takes his hands.

"You're fine, we didn't want to wake you on purpose," he says gently. "You were so cute sleeping."

Mamoru's face erupts bright red as enthusiastic murmurs of agreement sound across the room. "You- Um, oh- Okay."

I've dug my heels in to stop the feeling

Convinced it's something that will never show

Broken my cup, can't fill it up no more

He slides from his futon and fumbles through his bag for some clothes. Normally, he'd wake up earlier than the team to change, but he'd woken up dead last. Now he holds his clothes in hand, wondering whether he should just wait, or head to the washroom to change.

"Hurry up and change," Nishinoya exclaims, shaking his shoulders excitedly. After each night, he seems to recharge like a phone, ready and raring to go. Mamoru hums, twisting cloth beneath his fingers.

"Oi," Daichi scolds the younger boy gently. "Go see if Kiyoko has breakfast ready."

At the mention of Kiyoko, both Nishinoya and Tanaka sprint for the door. All of them slowly start to trickle out the door to the cafeteria, except for Sugawara and Daichi. They exchange a look, which seems to be more of a silent conversation, before Daichi nods and leaves.
