There's something about the dark . Darkness in general , you'll find so much peace and quiet in the dark . The conversations are between you and your thoughts . The human mind works a little bit better at dusk , in twilight . I could be fooling myself into believing it because Spencer is that darkness . He's that terrible storm that stands in one place and invites you in and I built a home right in the middle of that storm .

My head laying on his chest , I hear his chest rise and fall , his heart is not hammering against his rib cage . His heart sings a melody , a peaceful tune . He runs his fingers in my scalp . They massage my scalp gently , soothingly . We're surrounded by darkness , it is past midnight -in the early hours of a new day , promising new and better days ahead .

" This feels nice ." I purr out , I hear his chest vibrate in laughter .

" Thompson? " he hummed in response . I contemplated what I wanted to ask him .

" Mark said something that has been stuck in my head ever since , " I feel him tense under me . His fingers dug into my scalp with force making me wince . He quickly removed his hand completely from my head .

" What did he say ? " he asked deadly quiet and calm .

Ever since Mark threw that bomb in my face , it has been all I could think about . I tried pushing it away but curiosity got the best of me plus it involved me and the future of my family .

" I know that the gang are not from here , I just didn't think you too weren't from here , I mean you don't have an accent like the rest of them . He said that you were a foreigner , is it true ? Should I be worried that one day you'll be deported?" I rushed the words .

He was quiet for a while . With each passing second , it felt like eternity . I heard him curse ,

" That bastard , I should've known he'd try this shit."

He didn't answer my question , I only feared it wasn't true . " So it's true?"

" My roots are not from here , my mother is from the United Kingdom but she moved here before I was even conceived . My father was a South African citizen , making me a South African citizen by default . My mother then got her citizenship after my birth . There's nothing to worry about Angel , we're safe . " he thoroughly explained . I felt my heart leap in relief .

" And as for the rest of the gang , they all have their citizenship as well ." he confirmed and clarified .

I felt guilty for even doubting him . The man might be a lot of things but he'd never commit such fraud .

" I'm sorry ." I apologized . I'm sorry for assuming the worst about you , I wanted to say but that sorry sufficed .

" I understand you were worried ." he placed a soft kiss on my temple .

" So what are we going to do about Mark ?" I asked .

" I'll handle it ." he finalized .

Do I even know what that means ? I don't think so . This time I'll let the man handle it the best way he knows how .

" Enough about the nonsense talk , it is time to perform your wife duties. " he whispered the last part.

Insatiable man .

" I'm not your wife as yet ." I tease him .

" Tell that to the high court Bianca." he groaned .

The high court may see our marriage legally but traditionally , he was just still a boyfriend .

" Tell that to my father ." I joked.

" Your family knows I intend to make things right , Angel ." his statement shocked me .

" What does that mean ?"

" I already asked for your hand in marriage from your father , Angel ." he revealed . I didn't know this .

" And he said yes ?" I asked .

" Why wouldn't he agree . I understand doing things traditionally means a lot to you and your family so I have to make things right . I've already contacted my two uncles from the UK and the rest of the gang said they'll be there too ." my heart melted right there and then .

Although I wanted to laugh , how will the rest of the gang negotiate for me ? They'll pay whatever ridiculous amount my uncles' ask from them .

" Good luck with that , you'll be paying an arm and a leg ." I laughed .

" Whatever amount your family will charge me won't be close to the amount I'm willing to spend on you , Angel ." he vowed .

This man had no idea what was waiting for him . I love his confidence though .

" You found me a virgin Thompson , that alone will double the original amount , and then Uhlawule for knocking me up and then they'll charge you more because I have qualifications and a good career . Good luck with that ." I let the man know what he was in for .

" And then you'll have to pay damages for Justice and Karishma because they're mine before they're yours . The customs' list is endless and , that's the most important part but it's such a sacred and beautiful ceremony ." I told him , excitement consuming me .

" Angel , all that you've just mentioned won't even make a dent in my pockets ." he declared .

How much money did Spencer really have ?

All of this could rage close to a million rands , wedding preparations aside .

" How much money do you really have? " I tried asking but the man shut me up by rolling us over so he could be on top .

" Enough about that , Angel . Sondela phela." he said shocking me once more .

" I didn't know you understood isiZulu."

He chuckled , " Angel , this is South Africa, isiZulu is mandatory besides you'd be an idiot for not understanding the language ."

What he said was the honest truth . isiZulu is right next to English in South Africa . I've never spoken it to him because I thought he didn't know it .

" Still , I didn't think you'd know the language ." I can't seem to get over my shock .

"  Angel , I'm fluent in the language ." he gloated .

" Woza  la." with that he buried himself so deep inside me , I think his babies shifted from their position .

We needed a more calm and playfully chapter after all the chaos . I wish I knew how to channel my writing and write a chapter on the "traditional wedding" but I lack in that department but it's one of the best customs law ever and the traditional weddings too😭 Everything is perfect!

A quick DYK ,yeah?
