Some times, it's about setting your pride aside and take time to actually listen , listen to someone as they explain themselves to you . Maybe that way things would've turned out better , maybe if someone took the time to listen and make the other person listen .

I examined her , judging by her facial expression - she didn't want to be here with me right now . Nevertheless I kept quiet and waited for her to say something .
I knew guilt was eating away at her but I wanted her to say it . In all honesty I was long over it , although I've been avoiding her and the conversation .

She sat on the edge of the bed , while I sat up in the covers , I turned my entire body to her so I could give her my attention .
She fidgeted with her hands due to nervousness . I began counting mentally , she swallowed a few times before speaking .
" I just wanted to apologize for the disturbing position you found us in when you walked in ," she spoke in a barely audible voice , she wasn't looking at me , she was looking at her hands . I didn't say anything , she let out a sigh before further elaborating .
" It wasn't what it looked like though -" I cut her off with a sceptical look .
I know what I walked in on .
"I know , I know it looked like we have fucking but in actual fact , that was angry sex ." She said flushed , my eyes widened in realisation . Of course , I knew exactly what that felt like , I had no control or say in the matter .
Just like she was pinned face down on the contour , she wasn't allowed to touch him . " What ?" She asked me , seeing my expression .
" You've also experienced it right ?"

My eyes did the talking , "What did you do ?" She suddenly asked , I contemplated on what to tell her .
" I confessed that I kissed Lony ." She nodded , " We were getting food at McDonald's and he had left to answer a call when he returned , he found Stephan hugging me in a really intimate way , he even kissed my cheek .
He didn't say or do anything in front of him , he just stood away from me , then Stephan called me love ."
My mouth formed an O shape , yeah , it didn't look good .
I wondered what would Spencer have done or what his reaction would've been . We held each other's eyes , I gritted my teeth in a 'shhlll' sound .
I nodded my head , gesturing for her to continue .

"I tried explaining who Stephan was but he wasn't having it , I apologized the entire way and he never uttered a word but you could see he was way past being deranged and immediately when I shut the door , he had me bent over on the contour and that's when you ..." She left it hanging , leaving me to fill in the rest .
Right .
Stephan was her old varsity fling , they ended things because he was developing feelings and she wasn't .
It still seems like he hasn't gotten over her yet .

" Right . So what happened after ...?" I asked , letting her fill in the rest , she mouthed an 'oh ' before shrugging her shoulders , looking back at her hands , sniffing .
She sobbed silently , I got closer to her and hugged her . " He-he just left and he hasn't called me , I've tried calling him but it just rings and yesterday , yesterday I-I saw him at his club , I-I h-had gone to see h-him but Cameron said he w-wasn't available but when I -" she broke down crying even harder .
I rubbed her back and told her to breathe .
"But when I was about to leave , I saw him exit his office with , with Kyla , his past hookups , they were both fixing their clothes .
We locked eyes and I ran out , he called me a few times before I threw the damn phone in the alley trash can ." She finished telling me , still sobbing in my arms . I didn't know how to comfort her because I too needed comforting so I simply let her cry out her pain . She wouldn't have cared , let alone cried if she didn't feel anything for him .

" I'm sorry , I guess both best friends are egotistical bastards who don't care about hurting other people's feelings ." She pulled back from the hug , looking at me in confusion , "What ?" .
