" Take two of these on an empty stomach and two again after a meal, make sure you finish them okay , Mrs Solomons?" She took the tablets from my hands with a grateful smile , my heart broke at the sight of her - an elderly woman who was ignored and had been here since dawn . She was starving by the time I arrived for my shift . The sound of her whimpering from her pain stopped me . She arrived on a severe headache and was weak .

I had the porter , Lindsay take her to my office , where I put her on a drip while I sent Lindsay to get her soft porridge and tea from the kitchen . After the meal , I sedated her so she would rest and not be disturbed . She was out for a whole eight hours , I kept busy with patient files and routine rounds . My feet felt like they were on fire by the time I finished my rounds .

I removed my flats and sat on the chair , putting my legs on the table . The screen of my phone lit up , my heart rate increased thinking maybe he was reaching out to me - it's been two weeks after the incident, he didn't return home that day and the next day , his cellphone was also off . I decided to leave on the third day , I kept reaching out to him but he never answered , he let it ring . After deciding I wasn't desperate , I stopped trying at all .

I saw the text message on the notification bar and my heart fell when I saw who sent it .

The bestfriend 😏❤ : " Bring Steers' ribs with extra sauce , burger and chocolate milkshake " .

I sighed and typed the reply .

Me : "A please would have been nice you know 😏" a few minutes later the notification ringtone chimed .

The bestfriend 😏❤ : " No thanks , I love you " .

I tossed the phone in my bag , my soul almost jumped out of my body at the sound of Mrs Solomons' voice . " He'll come back to you dear don't you worry " . After catching my breath , I brought my eyes and saw her watching me with a knowing look , my facial expression asked what I couldn't , I couldn't find my voice , the words were stuck in my throat . I asked 'how?- how did she know what or rather who I was thinking about?" . She gave me a knowing smile , "Your eyes my dear child , your spirit is down . He'll come back okay , just trust that for whatever reason , it's a good thing he disappeared or did what he did . Just know that he did it for you Okay?" I felt tears coming out of my eyes and I smiled at her advice . Couldn't he have at least called me ? I killed myself with embarrassment , thinking he was angry that he found me masturbating and using him to get release .

"How are you feeling Mrs Solomons?" I shifted the attention away from me and she let out a chuckle , clearly aware of my attempts . " I feel rested , thank you so much for what you did , all the world's blessings shall fall unto you my child " she said as she got off the bed and fixed her appearance. "It's a pleasure Mrs Solomons " I walked to her and she pulled me into a hug , " You'll see , you'll be very happy when you find out the real reason for his recent behaviour " she whispered in my ear while brushing my back in a so motherly and comforting manner , I fought the tears that were threatening to fall .

After a few comforting whispers, we pulled apart from the hug and she left , not before thanking me again .

I was waiting patiently for my order to be ready , I was standing next to a very gorgeous woman next to me . She was dressed in a simple , floral dress that hugged at her waist and let her loose just over her knees , she wore matching sandals and to say I was jealous of her beautiful legs was an understatement , her toes were more beautiful, she painted her toenails in a lime green colour , highlighting the light skinned legs .
