Harley

Convincing him to come home with me proved to be difficult , I had already found him in a fowl mood . I knocked on his door gently and received a 'go away,' reply from him . I gently twisted the doorknob and pushed the door softly open , I closed the door behind me and walked up to him .

He was sitting on the floor near , what I assumed was his bed . The room had three beds , lined in parallel . The walls were blue , there was a big closet in the corner and a four people table in the corner .

I sat next to him and greeted him , " Hey , Justin , how are you ?" . He ignored him and carried on with a doll , he was fixing it , he was putting the head back together , " She'll be happy about her doll ," he immediately stopped working and raised his eyes to meet mine . " What are you talking about ?" . " The little girl you are fixing the doll for ," He scoffed and resumed putting back the doll . " What do you want ?" He hissed , making me nervous .

There was no better way to say what I wanted to ask him , this boy drew me to him . I wanted to be the only person who he could really count on and rely on without him feeling like I'm doing him a favour , I knew I had a long way to go , to be with him but I was willing to do it all , with him . He didn't trust me , he didn't even like me but that didn't change anything on my side , I still wanted him .

In life , you never give up on people even if they , themselves have given up . I wanted to be the one to bring about change into his life , I cleared my throat , " I want you to come home with me for the weekend , I already asked Matilda and she agreed so I'm here to ask you ," I rambled my speech finish . Justin shifted from his position , still holding the doll in his hands , "I can't ," . I was left bewildered , trying to get him to agree was beginning to be a problem . " I understand your concern but I promise we'll have fun and you won't regret it " I explained in a rush , he shook his head , " It's not that , I have Karishma to look after , I can't leave her alone for three days ." He explained , Karishma ? The little girl , he was with in the hallway .

It brought a new insight on Justin , he cared more than what he led on , he took it upon himself to play the role of a big brother to this little girl , I wanted him for the weekend , even if it meant , taking Karishma too . "She can come with , go on and help her pack while I go speak to Matilda about this ," his face shifted but quickly went back , "You sure?" He was hesitant . "Why not , the more , the merrier , right ?" We both stood up at the same time and walked to the door , I opened the door to a five year old with puffy teary eyes . "Titi says you leaving , you leaving me ?" she said in a breaking voice , I watched Justin tense up and bent to her level . He held both her hands in his , " No Riri , I was coming to get you ," he explained to her in a brotherly way .

Anyone could see that these two adored each other and who was I to separate such love ? Her eyes lit up and she gave him a toothless smile , " We're going together ?" He let out a chuckle and looked up to me , " Miss MacKesie says so , right ?" . "Right Miss MacKesie?" the sweet five year old with red curly hair asked me , I too bent to her level and introduced myself . " Hey princess , I'm Harley , what's your name?" She stepped forward and opened her arms wide for a hug , "Nice to meet you Lele , my name is Riri or Rishma , will you be taking me and Juju home with you ?" she was sweet, my heart flattered at this . "Uhm yes , why don't you and Justin go pack so long while I speak to Mother Matilda huh ?" I said breaking the hug . "Come Juju , I don't want to leave Mr Snuggles behind ." She said pulling his hand along with her .

I walked to Matilda's office and knocked on the door , "Come in !" She yelled on from the inside . I pushed the door that was left ajar , "Oh , Ms MacKesie ,what is it that I can do for you ?" She asked as I walked inside .
