Chapter 25 : The space between

Nova's P.O.V

I was laying in the moss bed feeling stressed out. It was sunny outside and it seemed like a nice day but I couldn't find it in me to be happy. It's been a moon since the incident with Gavin and I've been keeping low because the leafeon's have been searching for me. They Are also trying to fine Erica as well which worried me. "Hey Nova. How are you doing today?" I hear Quinn's voice as she enters the den. I've been staying with Milo and so is Quinn. I get up and turn to face her. ".... I've been okay..." I tell her even if I did feel worse then I'm letting off. 'Cora!' I flinch as the name shouts in my own head. I grunt and placed a paw on my head as a head ache develops. '.... That Espeon... that odd dream.... It keeps coming back to me but I need to find Erica first.' I've been getting head ache and hearing that espeon in my head and it did make me feel crazy sometimes. "Another head ache?.... You seem to get a lot of them." Quinn says sitting beside me now. I glanced at her and just shrugged it off. "No.. I'm fine...but there's something I wanted to ask you...." I want to ask her about Cora, I don't know why but ever since I met Quinn i felt like I need ask her about it, like she knows something. Quinn and I have also gotten really close as good friends just like Milo, who clearly had a big crush on the female umbreon. The umbreon gives a soft smile. "Yeah what is it?" She answers and I go ahead with the question. ".... Do you know anything about a Pokémon named Cora?" I then waited for a response but was met with silence. I then look at Quinn who looked at my with shock. She then looks away from me. "....how do you know her?" She asked her voice sharp. I flinched before tilting my head, I didn't just want to say from a dream. 'The truth is I don't know her.' I then looked away and let a sigh out. "I heard her name once... truth is I know nothing of her... I don't even know what Pokémon she is." I then noticed the umbreon relaxed her muscles, I hadn't even noticed she was tensed up.
'... why is she actually like that? She's acting like Someone is going to attack us.' Quinn then met my gaze. "Cora... she is a jolteon who's been corrupted... bent on Revenge.... That's all I know." She tells me sounding sad. She didn't meet my eyes at all. I felt like there was more that she knew but wasn't telling me.'Cora wants revenge?... then why dose that espeon want me to help her? Cora is obviously not a good mon.'

My ears twitch as I hear paw steps outside the den and Quinn prick her ears and looks over to the entrance. Then Milo pops his head in the entrance. "Hey Nova you might want to come out here!" He says with a grin. He seemed oddly happy. I let a sight out and shared a glance with Quinn before getting up. My leg was fully healed now but I did have to stretch it a lot it sometimes gives out on me but rarely. Quinn says if I keep stretching it and keeping it strong it should stop and go back to normal. I then stepped outside the den to be hit with the bright sunlight. And I felt my mouth drop for I wasn't expecting to see what I saw. Standing by a blossom tree was a glaceon. I felt stunned I couldn't believe it, it was no other then a Erica. My heart was pounding but I couldn't help but notice the look in her eyes. She looked worried and stressed. She doesn't move from where she's standing and in fact she avoiding my eyes. But in this moment I could care less. I find myself running towards her. "Erica!" I shouted overwhelmed with joy. The glaceon then widens her eyes as I basically trample her. We both end up tumbling to the ground. I could feel my eyes watering as I say. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry I should've told you about Gavin." I snuggled my muzzle in her neck. The glaceon was still silence before she softly pushed me away and sat up once again. She looks at me with a look of sadness before saying. "Don't be sorry... I should be... I... Nova I really didn't mean for any of this to happen... I panic!" I could tell something heavy was weighing on her. "....Why didn't you come back? Where were you!" I then asked quickly wanting to know. She shuffled her paws a bit. "....your not mad at me?" She says now tilting her head to one side. I stared at her for a bit before saying. "....yeah a little but not for what your thinking. I'm so happy to see you... but mad at you for leaving, mad for never telling me where you go or what your doing! I missed you.... I needed you and you didn't think to come back? To find me?" I then her blue gaze land on my upper leg. It did have a scar now. I then looked back at her. I left my leg up to show her the scar closer. "Gavin did this if your wondering.... He tried to force me to stay and be his mate. If Milo and Quinn didn't show up when they did....." I trailed off not wanting to think of it. Erica frowns and I could see guilt in her eyes. "...Nova I'm sorry... I had no idea, I... I don't... I can't seem to do anything right!" She suddenly seem to lose focus and her eyes start to water as her body seems to tumble. I frown and the push up against her. "It's fine now... but please tell me... what's going on?.... I promise I'm not keeping anything from you anymore so tell me. Please." She fell silent again and looked at me then let a sigh out. "I left because I was scared alright.... I... I killed him, that leafeon could've survived if I helped him.... Not only that but I didn't want to die either, also how could I face you after something like that?.... I didn't think you'd want to see me.... Thought maybe Gavin would be better for you..." I then met her eyes. Was she for real? Did she actually think I'd want to be with Gavin? I give her a look of disbelief. "....Erica I know you... I know you'd never take a life on purpose... and I don't like Gavin that's why I left! I'm not interested in guys or anyone else.. I love you silly." The glaceon looked calmer now but something was still on her mind. But she just gives a soft smile instead. " love you to." She says before leaning in and giving me a kiss. I closed my eyes letting myself forget all my problems, just wanting it to be me and her and nothing else matter's. We then separate from the kiss. I then here paw steps and turn my head to see Milo come back out of the den with Quinn following behind him. "Hey Erica come meet Quinn." I got up and looked back at Erica. "Come on." The glaceon looked taken back before walking up to the umbreon. But I noticed something. The female umbreon froze and stared at Erica looking shocked and slightly worried. Erica seem to notice to. "Is everything alright?..." she asked Quinn, and the umbreon shook her head and just chuckles. "You just look a lot like someone I know..." Erica's eyes widen a bit but she just chuckles awkwardly. "Oh I see... probably no one i know though." Erica says before glancing at the sky then back at me. "Hey I'm going to assume your hiding from the leafeon tribe... so why don't we go to my new den... it's farther away but still close enough to town.. probably safer honestly."  I think about it for a minute before deciding she's right. I needed to get away from them and living here's been risky. "Sure... sounds good to me..." I then glanced at Milo and Quinn. "Thanks for everything." I tell them but I noticed a worried look on Quinn before she says. "Alright Nova bye for now but we'll visit you." And with that she turns tail and walks away. Milo nods before saying. "See you around." He then follows after the other umbreon. And Erica waved her tail for me to follow after her.
