A YEAR WISER
No new photos were taken
No composure has been broken
No one has been added
No gadgets were upgraded
Someone was even subtracted
Which technically made my heart divided
But with the new year that I was given
It made me stronger and more driven
No need of the upgrades with a leer
If my greatest gifts have been here
We're building a stronger bond
Navigating in a more solid sand
With the prayers of friends and family
I am living more fulfilled and happy
Accepting my strengths and my flaws
I'm constantly learning life's gloss
Wisdom may not always come with age
Contrary to an old proverbial adage
But I can profoundly say I am a year wiser
And will hopefully grow more and be better
