ETERNAL QUEST
Pushing, moving this boulder
On a bleak day in July
Straining, hurting my shoulder
Doing so without an allyI may play the victim card
I neither hurt anyone willingly
But I must have done an untoward
To be this punished accordinglyAnd so, I must accept this occurrence
I can never control anyone's choice
But I can mold my reaction's benevolence
To calm me and remain in poiseThis boulder may keep on rolling down
But I will never give up and forever fail
I will never surrender my eternal crown
Just because everyone I did not hailI may never please all the people around me
I will always disappoint others in some way
My side they will not always understand and see
And so, in this piece, my two cents I offer and layStill, I will not give in to this unprecedented quest
Of trying to make the people around me happy
I must learn to find the balance of being blest
Of forever enjoying my chores while remaining snappy
