Chapter 8

You looked at Hawks and he could see in your eyes that you were angry.

"Someone's a bit needy" you said forcing a laugh. "I'm sorry about that" you said looking at Riftain

"It's okay, I have business to attend to" he said clearing his throat. "It was lovely meeting you" he said then walking away.

You looked at Hawks and walked away from him. You walked towards the bar and he grabbed your hand.

"What the fuck was that" you said pulling your hand away from him.

"I had to get you out of that situation some how" he said sounding as if he didn't care.

"I didn't need you to do anything, I was doing my god damn job" you said and he could see the anger in your eyes.

"Y/n, I'm not sure what just happened, but I need you to calm down you'll attract to much attention" Dabi said in your ear.

"Calm down?! this jackass just forced a kiss on me" you said looking Hawks dead in the eye, the look sending chills down his spine.

"Dude, what the fuck did we talk about" Dabi said sounding aggravated.

They started to go back and forth when you noticed men in black suits start to appear. You looked around and they were everywhere and they weren't there before. They started to close in on Hawks.

"Hawks" you said and he didn't listen. "Hawks" you said again seeing more come in from the entrances around the venue. "Hawks we need to go" you said grabbing his arm he still didn't listen to you. "Hawks!" You said raising your voice.

"What Y/n?" He said as shots started to fire and the ground shook.

People screamed and you and Hawks crouched down. People started running and the pros were trying to fight them off. You looked around and it looked like crazy. People were on the ground and Hawks had feathers flying already. You saw Riftain in the middle of it with a women in his arms and a gun to her head. You looked at the stairs and remembered Dabi hid your stuff up there. You quickly got up and ran up up the stairs Hawks calling after you. You got up the stairs and saw your stuff. You grabbed your staff and quickly unwind the string at one end connecting it to the other end making your bow. You grabbed an arrow from your quiver and pulled back. You aimed at one the the men and released and the arrow hit him in the shoulder. Hawks was trying to get to Riftain but it wasn't working out very well.

You focused on the men in the black suits taking them out one at a time. Eventually they realized where the arrows were coming from. And started making there way up the stairs. You were now focusing on shooting the arrows in two different directions. You turned back and shot an arrow towards one of the men going towards a civilian. When you felt a gust of warm air behind you. When you looked back you saw Dabi his bright blue flames lighting up the area. His trench coat was blowing back and his eyes were full of light. He took care of the people coming up the stairs. You could see Hawks his wings were vastly smaller and he was breaking a sweat.

"We have to go" Dabi said going up to you.

You nodded. You looked and Dabi started to go out on the balcony the cool air feeling nice on your skin.

"If you keep attacking I'll kill her" Riftain yelled and Hawks stopped.

You looked back and saw a women with a gun to her head.

"Y/n come on" Dabi said.

He noticed what you were looking at and he sighed. He shook his head and you started walking back pulling your last arrow out of your quiver and pulling it back.

"Y/n, we have to leave, now !" He said walking up next to you.

"I can help her" you said aiming.

"Y/n you can't help her, Hawks can handle this lets go!" He said getting frustrated.

"Does it look like he's handling it?" You said glancing over at him.

"Y/n we have to leave now!" He said pushing your bow down.

"No!" You said looking at him and shoving him away from you.

"Surrender now or she dies number 2" Riftain said.

"What if you miss?" He said making you look at him with a disgusted look.

You shook your head and pulled back your arrow aiming. You took a deep breath and released. The arrow flew through the air and hit Riftain in the shoulder he was holding the gun with. Hawks moved the women out of the way and the rest of the league came in and tied him up. You lowered your bow and looked at Dabi.

"I don't miss" you said untying the string of your bow taking a few steps closer to Dabi. "Don't ever question my ability again" you said walking onto the balcony.

You all got to the hideout and Dabi tried to talk to you but you ignored him. You took a seat in your normal spot and hit your vape. There was tension between you and Dabi but no one said anything about it. Toga asked nicely to play with your hair so you let her. She was being surprisingly gentle. Eventually a Nomu brought Riftain in, tied to a chair and with a bag over his head so he couldn't see.

"Untie me right now, you have no idea who your dealing with!" He said trashing around.

"Keep that up and you'll fall over" Hawks said some of his feathers already growing back.

"Show yourself coward" he yelled.

You got off the creat you were sitting on and went behind him pulling the bag off of his head. He looked around and didn't recognize anyone besides Hawks.

"Which one of you guys shot me with the arrow?" He asked a bit out of breath. "It must have been you" he said looking at compress.

"Actually, it was me" you said walking in front of him.

"Y/n, you're one of them?" He said almost shocked.

"You say that like you are any better" you said tilting your head.

"I just didn't think you would be the type" he said looking up and down. "I mean look at you" he said.

"I can't stand men like you, you think because I'm a girl with a pretty face that I can't possibly be the one who shot you point blank in the shoulder" you said pressing down on his wound.

He let out a hiss and you rolled your eyes and took a seat. You all questioned him for a bit but he wasn't giving in just yet, you guys would have to break his spirt and that takes time. You and Dabi had to walk back to his apartment together. It wasn't a far walk but your feet hurt from the heels so you took them off and walked barefoot. When you both got there you walked in and went strait to the bedroom. You put your now empty quiver down and leaned your staff up against the wall. You looked at yourself in the mirror and sighed.

"Y/n, we need to talk"
