The girls we've just met sit at the back of our table as soon as the waiter finishes setting the table for them too.
They are nice and chat with us as if they have known us forever, so when they start arguing about football teams and West Ham, we are sure we have made the right choice to have them over for dinner with us.
"Can we take more photos? My friends at home will never believe that we are having dinner with you..." the girl who just now literally assaulted me in a hug, smiles at me.
I smile and nod, I don't see anything wrong with it.Indeed, at least there will be no false news about my hypothetical girlfriends, since these are clearly fans and that's it.
God, at least I hope so. On the internet, you never know how certain information will end up.
In all this chaos, while Lily, as the green-eyed girl Morgz clearly likes, introduces herself to the pros and cons of going to a game at the stadium, I haven't been able to find Jo yet.Now I'm not even sure I want to find her anymore, to avoid embarrassing situations that would surely arise with the fans.
"Hero, your girlfriend ..." I block Felix with a killer look as the words die on his lips, immediately understanding what shit he was about to say ...
"Oh ..." he takes a breath and pretends to cough noisily and I clap a hand on his back to help him recover as I whisper "What the fuck are you thinking of?!?"
"Sorry ..." he whispers in response and I make sure that the girls, fortunately quite distant, have not heard.
"I don't know where she is ..." I mumble looking around me.
We place our orders and in the meantime chat with the girls, amused by Felix's silly talk about the strangest topics, as usual."Will you be staying here for a long time?" dares Missy, the red-haired girl two places away from me, the real birthday girl of the evening since it's her bachelorette party.
"A little more than a week..." I answer taking the dish that the waiter is handing me "Thank you..."
"Ah cool! Are you going to go out and about in Los Angeles or will you stay here in Palm Springs?"
"We haven't decided yet ..." I take a forkful of pasta and start eating, now hunger is making itself felt. "We decide day by day, based on my commitments..."
"The famous mister here has several commitments..." Felix mocks me, earning a slap on the back of the head from me.
"Ouch!" he massages his head pretending to have heard sick.
"Exaggerated, I just touched you ... and then you learn to make fun of me!" I laugh under the amused gaze of the girls.
"Josephine ..."
As soon as I hear her name, I look up, looking for a sign of her.
Instead nothing.
It was just the beginning of a question.Stay calm FT.
Calm."... what's she doing? You are keep in touch even when you're not making movies?" concludes the sentence Lily.
I look at her and for a split second I think about what to say.
I hoped they weren't asking questions like that and for a moment I felt like I got away with it, instead...
Would there be anything wrong with feeling like friends?
It would be stranger not to feel at all, right?
After all, we still have some films to make together...
I don't even have to give explanations ..."We talk every now and then... we live far away and the time zone doesn't help!" I admit.
Basically it's the truth, nothing is invented ...
