"Hi, I'm Mercy!"

She offers me her hand and I blink quickly, not understanding what to do.
I reflexively hold out my hand to her, not thinking about it.

"Hi I...I'm Jo...I mean Josephine but you can call me Jo and... I'm Jo!" I smile embarrassed.

What the fuck is going on?
I suddenly look at how I'm dressed!
I have a huge Hero shirt on and his boxers.
I'm barefoot and I'm in his parents' kitchen.
It's a nightmare!

"Mercy, what are you doing here?" asks Hero as surprised as I am "Weren't you supposed to come back tonight?"

"Good morning to you too big brother!" she smiles amused "There was a change of plans" She shrugs casually "Don't worry, I just got home! Pretend I'm not there... I definitely need a shower and a good sleep!"

"I'll just..." I can't make a proper sentence "There's also for you if you want breakfast!"

"Thanks Jo, I'll take a shower and be there then!" she smiles at me amused.

This situation must seem exhilarating to her while I just want to run away far away.
Far away, like really far away!

Mercy quickly disappears up the stairs and Hero turns to me worriedly.

"I swear I didn't know! I would never... Oh my God Jo, seriously, I'm so sorry!"

"Hey!" I grab his hand "I know, just breathe! Don't worry, nothing happened!"

I want to run away, but it's an insignificant detail!
The first time I meet his sister and I'm a mess.

He brings a hand to his face and sighs.
"If you want, we'll leave right away, our house will be free now..."

Our house. He calls it ours.

My heart beats fast and I stare at him wordlessly.

I lean in closer to leave a kiss on his cheek to calm him down.

"Me too!" he kisses me on the lips this time and I lean my forehead against his.

"What will your sister think?" I ask agitatedly again.

"Nothing!" he shrugs, exactly as she did just now "Mercy is very honest, blunt and direct... if she had anything to say, she would have told us already!"

"I must admit, you surprised me big brother!" she quickly descends down the stairs like a tornado, wearing a grey jumpsuit that looks a lot like the ones Hero always wears.

"You too!" he smiles as he makes room for her on one of the vacant stools next to him.

"Jo, tell me if he's being too silly, okay?" she shakes her head "I'll set him straight!" she laughs as she picks up a plate and fills it with things to eat.

I watch the scene like we're in a movie.
I can't believe this is really happening!

"I won't tell mum!" she says with a mouthful of toast in her mouth "If that's what you're worried about bro! She'd rip your head off if she knew you brought Josephine home without her knowing!" she shakes her head amused.
