Hero

I watch Thyanna as she introduces herself to Jo and I don't understand what is going on.
What is she doing in my house?
I look at Felix for an explanation but he just shrugs and continues eating breakfast.

"Welcome back Hero... We missed you!" She comes towards me, clearly intending to hug me.

"Hey T..." I nod at her and move towards the kitchen to get my breakfast.
She stops and with an embarrassed smile, takes a seat next to Jo.

"Can you explain?" I whisper to Felix who is probably eating his third scone.

"She needed a place to stay for a few days and..."

"And you let her stay here?!?" I can no longer contain the volume of my voice so irritated I am!
How could he come up with this?
She is Ella's best friend, we barely tolerate each other because she always tried to rub up against me, to no avail!

"How long has she been here?" I whisper.

"Um... A little..."

"Felix..." I snort.

"Okay it's a few weeks, but she said she found another place to stay and..."

"What?!? I hope so for her!" I huff grabbing my milk and tea, before turning back to Jo.
I don't want to leave her alone with this viper.

Jo smiles forcibly and looks relieved as I approach her.
I run a hand over her back and hand her the glass with the tea.
I gently squeeze her side as I drink my milk.

Thyanna follows my movements as she chatters about I don't know what.

"Hey... Shall we have breakfast?" Jo asks visibly uncomfortable.

I nod "We'd better..."

"There's also for you Thyanna..." Jo smiles politely at her and she takes one of the glasses with coffee.

"Thank you, you're really kind!" She looks at her sweetly and then glares at me.

I roll my eyes annoyed.

"So Josephine, are you here on holiday?" She asks suddenly interested in Jo.

"Well... Let's say yes!" She smiles at her and then looks at me trying to figure out what situation we've gotten ourselves into now.

"If you want I can take you shopping one of these days, let's leave this bad boy at home playing PlayStation..." She laughs.

"Ah well... I thank you, for now though I have my official guide and I wouldn't want to betray him!" She looks at me and takes my hand.

"I'm sorry T, but Jo is all mine and I'm not going to share her with anyone." I pass an arm over her shoulders and draw her to me to kiss her forehead.

"Yeah T... Don't get involved!" Felix adds with a sigh.

"Okay, okay... It was just a proposal! You guys are weird today... What's the matter with you?"

"Are you going to be here much longer?" I'll get straight to the point.

"I don't think so... I should have found a room to rent near work..."

"Good, because we need the house..." I point out while remaining vague.

"Hero!" Jo pats my arm and looks at me, widening her eyes "What manners are they?" She whispers.

"Then I'll explain..." I whisper in her ear "But you won't like it..."
When I return to look into her eyes her gaze is questioning.
She looks at Tyahna again, not understanding what could be so wrong about her.
She sighs and leans more against me, still tight in my embrace.
