"You're lucky Miss Langford, we have plenty of free rooms and we can put you in the biggest one."
Louis, the receptionist, smiles.
Lucky yes.
A water pipe burst and my room completely flooded within half an hour!
If you call that lucky!
"Alright..." I sigh.
"We'll help you get your things, only something is wet. The rest is dry. Good thing she had put everything in the wardrobe!"
Yes, that was really lucky!
I usually always leave everything around, but three months is a long time and I had to unpack and sort out my things.
"Okay... Let's go!"
At least the new room has a very large balcony, unlike the previous one, and is closer to the common room.
I only regret not being Chance's neighbour anymore.
It would have been easier to organise and carry out all the pranks I want to play on him!
I arrange my things again and lie down on the bed.
I look at the clock. It is already 10 p.m., I don't know if dinner is still going on or if everyone has already left.
I put on my slippers and go back to the hall.
It seems rude to me to disappear like this, without saying goodnight to the others.
In the hall several people have left, but others are left chatting.
"Hey, Jo!" Chance smiles upon seeing me.
Carter and Kiana turn around immediately afterwards smiling.
Hero also turns to look at me for a few seconds, then lowers his gaze and continues talking to Rob.
I sigh deeply.
"I came to say goodnight, see you in the morning!"
"Is everything alright? What was the problem?" Chance asks.
"They had to change my room. There was a problem with a water pipe, probably from the cold!"
"Ah gee! Aren't we rooming together anymore?" Chance pouts and I laugh at his expression.
"Apparently not! I ended up in an undefined spot in the middle of the corridor!" I joke "At least the room is bigger!"
"All the luck!!!" Carter laughs.
"Are you sleepy? We were going to play to pass the time! I don't know when we'll have such a free evening again!" Chance implores me with his gaze to stay.
I think about it for a few seconds.
After all, I'm not even sleepy and I have so many thoughts in my head that a distraction will do me good!
"Okay, I can stay a little longer!" I smile as Chance jumps from happiness.
It takes little to make him happy!
"Let's settle down over there on the sofas, shall we?" I propose pointing to a lounging area in the corner of the room.
"Hero, are you coming?" Chance turns towards him who is still talking and laughing with Stephen.
He looks at me hesitantly for a moment "Maybe later..." He hints a smile.
I break eye contact and settle on the small sofa in the corner, since it seems the most comfortable spot.
"What shall we play?" Kiana sits taking one of the big, soft cushions that are on the sofa, hugging it.
"How about we play a game of - Never have I ever? -, at least we know each other better!" Carter proposes.
I'm a little hesitant, I've never particularly liked this game, but everyone agrees and I don't feel like being a party pooper.
