Hero

We have been on the plane for five minutes, Jo is sitting by the window and I am next to her.

The seats in first class are really huge and very comfortable, we have a blanket, a bathroom set and other crap that is making my girlfriend particularly elated.

She looks at me without speaking and makes funny faces, like she is breathless at seeing a mini version of a toothbrush.

She is clearly making fun of me and, to top it off, she is continuing to pretend she doesn't know me.

"Do you mind if I close the glass curtain?" I lean towards her to close the blind, so for no reason, just to annoy her.
I know very well how much she likes to look outside, especially when the plane is about to leave.

"Hey! No!" she slaps my hand and I have to use all my demeanour not to burst out laughing "Excuse me sir, don't get so familiar..."

I'm practically lying on top of her and my hand is still on the shutter.
"Can't I?" I look at her intently, lowering my voice.

"No!!! And now if you would do me the favour of returning to your seat, thank you!!!"

I know she's trying not to laugh, but I'll play along.

"I like the way you say sir..." I go back to my seat and play dumb as I see out of the corner of my eye that she is still watching me.
She shakes her head and a smile escapes her face.

"I'm Hero by the way." I hold out my hand unexpectedly and she stares at me impassively for a moment.

"I'm Josephine..." She holds out her hand and shakes it.

"I have deja-vu..." I laugh "I've lived this scene before."

"I don't know what you're talking about." She smiles letting go of my hand.

"Do you have a boyfriend, Josephine?" I ask her moving a little closer.

"Are you flirting with me, by any chance, Hero?" She tilts her head, smiling.

"Who, me?" I lick my lips as I can't take my eyes off her.
She is hypnotic!
She shakes her head in amusement, grabs her headphones and turns on Spotify, leaning against the window.

"You didn't answer me anyway." A few minutes pass and I decide to annoy her again.

"Excuse me?" She removes a headset and looks at me interjected.

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

She smiles and closes her eyes amused.
"Why are you interested??"

"You keep not answering." I lean back in my seat, facing her.

She watches me in silence and copies my movements, relaxing in the seat with her head turned towards me.

"Can I call you Jo?" I venture, already knowing her answer.

"I don't think so!" She looks at me indignantly, crosses her arms and looks out the window again.

It's a stupid game but I enjoy annoying her, I have to admit!

"Hero..." she reflects aloud.

I turn to look her in the eye.

"...what an odd name!" She lets a smile escape.

"Yeah..." I shake my head "Nobody ever told me that!"

"They could have called you Ironman at this point... Or Thor!" she smiles, happy to annoy me.

"Now you're the one taking it too far, Josephine! I like my name, that's all I have to say!"
I grab my headphones and plug them into my phone, starting Spotify.
