Everyone just stood there staring at the two of us. My wolf was melting at that one word. We found our mate! But it was Alpha Gabriel... there had to be a mistake. Why would the Moon Goddess pick such a mean and ruthless wolf for me?

I watched him as he looked at me, his eyes so piercing. He had a few small faded scars I could see on his face and neck. He had a ruggedly handsome face, I caught myself staring too long and dropped my gaze.

What are you doing? look back at that sexy man and take him all in. Purred my wolf.

Just as I peeked back at him, everyone started talking at once, I then remembered we were in a room full of people. All eyes were on me, and I tried to shrink back into myself and hide behind my hair. My sister was the first I heard over the commotion. She stepped between him and I, shielding me from everyone's eyes.

"I will not allow Gracie to go with this man, mate or not!" She yelled, and my wolf whimpered slightly. "He will ruin her, you all know his reputation, she will crumple under him, she needs to be taken care of by someone who will actually meet her needs, not by him!"

I was a little hurt by her words, but I understood in a way as well. I don't like to argue and try to keep the peace as much as possible, Cammy calls me a pushover, and I don't think I am that much...

I can see my mother walking towards me, and she comes to stand by my side and speaks up before everyone starts talking again.

"I believe we should take a moment and think through this. It is clear things need to be discussed as this now complicates the original arrangement. If we could all take a moment to collect our thoughts and we can step outside on the patio to sit and talk."

With that, my mother stepped out of the room, and everyone started to follow, Camilla still stood between the Alpha and I and waited for him to follow everyone. He passed by us without a glance. She turned to face me when he left the room.

"Oh my goddess Gracie! What the actual fuck? What do we do, he will crush your kind spirit, he is not a nice man, he would probably tell you that himself. I have no issues squaring up with him, what will you do?" She was pacing the floor.

"I don't know Cammy, if the Moon Goddess Selene chose him then he must be the right one for me," My wolf was nodding in agreement. "What about the arrangement he set up with dad?"

"We will have to talk to them, I guess we will have to see what Mr. Shadow Demon wants to chose, if he wants to keep the agreement and have the power that comes with it or to change the agreement and pick his mate. Sad that it has come to this, but I never had a say in this, you could reject him, you have the power this time my sweet Grace."

I didn't know know what to do, did I want to see him pick being king over being with me? I don't even know him and my heart feels heavy at the idea of him rejecting me to have power, my wolf whimpered at the thought. I didn't want to face him, I don't know what I want, why did this happen? Before I could answer that my sister grabbed my hand and led me out of the office towards the back of the castle where everyone else was.

As we stepped out onto the back patio I could feel the tension in the air as if there was an argument that stopped just before we arrived, no one was speaking. I looked at Cammy who just shrugged, and walked to stand in front of our father and Alpha Gabriel.

"So what's it going to be, I'm assuming you have discussed it so what is happening, it involves both Grace and I so let's hear it." She demanded

Our father gave her a disapproving look at the tone she used in front of everyone, he was all about appearances and Camilla said what was on her mind regardless of who was around to hear it. My father was about to speak but the Alpha spoke first.
