I woke the next morning to find the bed empty. I looked out the window and saw that it must be late in the morning. I stretched before crawling out of bed, my side just a gentle throb now, I lifted my shirt to look at the bruises, and they were already starting to fade they will be gone by tomorrow night.

I looked over at the small table near my couch and saw it had a tray with fruit, toast, and coffee. I walked over and saw that there were two notes on the table as well. I recognized the neat handwriting instantly on one it was Hannah's, I picked that one up first.

Grace

When you were on your run last night, I came in to check on the fox kit, and she was ready to be released. When Myra was done running, she came and helped me track down the mothers den and placed the kit outside of it, thankfully accepting the baby back.

Hannah

Oh, that little fox. I almost forgot about her. I'm very happy the mother accepted her back. I will have to check on them later. I glanced down at the second note and saw that it was from the Alpha...

Little mate,

Eat some breakfast and come find me when you're done.

Gabriel

I sat down, not very hungry, but picked away at it, knowing I needed to eat something. Once I was finished, I headed to the bathroom to get ready. I looked at myself in the mirror and laughed out loud. From all the running and sparring from last night, my hair was all over the place. Just brushing it wasn't going to cut it. I needed to get in the shower again.

I grabbed two towels and turned the shower on to let it get hot. While that heated up, I set up my phone and Bluetooth speaker so I could listen to music. Once the water was at the temperature I liked, I climbed in, singing to the song playing, and just stood under the soothing hot water. I wanted to take my time and exfoliate every inch of my body and did a deep conditioning treatment on my hair. Once I was satisfied with how clean everything was, I turned off the shower, used my wet brush to detangle my hair and then wrapped it in a towel, and started drying my body off.

One of my favorite songs started playing, so I turned it up to sing along. I wrapped the towel around myself so I could walk to the closet to pick out what I was going to wear.

As I stepped out of the bathroom, I realized that I wasn't alone in my room. The alpha was lounging on the couch facing me. I immediately stopped singing, embarrassed, wondering how long he was in my room. He looked me up and down with a small smile on his lips.

“When you didn't come down to my office, I thought you might have taken off again, so I decided I would come up and see what you were up to. It seems every time I come to find you, you're putting on a concert.” He chuckled, and I could feel my face getting hot, I looked down at the ground, not wanting to look him in the eye.

“Good morning, thank you for the breakfast, and thank you for staying last night. I haven't slept that deep in a while.” I peaked up at him, his face seemed emotionless so thankfully not angry, he just nodded.

We stood there just looking at each other for a minute, and I realized I was still standing in a towel, so I walked past him to go around the bed to get to the closet. I pulled out a black pair of jeans and a light blue blouse. I opened a drawer of the dresser and grabbed a bra and underwear set that was a creamy white lace. I could feel his eyes on me. Why does he stare so much? I gathered up my clothes and turned around to look at him.
