The night air was warm, the sun had set, and the moon was low in the sky. I could feel wolves in the woods and hear a few howls and barks echoing in the mountains. It really was beautiful here.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to shift right away or speak with some wolves first, if I shifted I couldn't mind link anyone except Hannah and Felix as I wasn't a part of this pack. Speaking of the devil, I see Felix step out of the packhouse onto the front lawn.

"There you are, I stopped by your room, and you weren't there. You wanna go for a run?" He was almost bouncing up and down. He probably hasn't had a chance to shift since he has been here.

Before I could answer, I saw a man wave as he walked out of the trees. It was Axel. He is only wearing shorts that are hanging low on his waist. I notice his chest is covered scars some small, some large. If anything, it just makes him look more attractive. He smiles as he gets closer to us.

"Hello Princess, I hope I'm not interrupting. You're out early, I'm glad I ran into you. I have time before my next patrol. Did you want to go for a quick run?" He sounded so eager, I feel like I should stop leading this poor wolf on.

"Yes, a quick run would be nice to stretch my legs. My guard Felix here was about to go as well if that's okay? Just let us know when we are close to the border. Once we shift, we won't have a mind link with you."

"The border? That's quite a distance from here. We should be good."

"My wolf likes to run, I hope you can keep up." I winked and started walking towards the woods. Axel laughed, and it boomed around the yard, Felix smirked.

"Alright, Princess, as you wish." Then he bowed dramatically, Felix rolled his eyes at him behind his back.

I stepped behind a tree to hide myself while I took off my dress and hung it on a branch before calling my wolf forward. My bones snapped as my spine, arms and legs elongated, we landed on all fours and shook out our fur. I heard Felix shift as well, I looked over to see his chocolate and black wolf staring at me. He tilted his head, crossing his eyes and letting his tongue hang out of his mouth. He was such a jokester, I snickered at him.

I stepped back out of the tree line and saw Axel's eyes widen in shock. My wolf was tall. I was eye to eye with him. But he was probably more shocked at my wolfs fur colour. A white wolf is very rare, stories say they are a blessed wolf that brings harmony. In our history, we only know of three wolves that have been white, including mine.

"Beautiful." He murmured

My wolf puffed her chest at the compliment but wanted to get running she put her head down and stuck her cold nose to his shoulder and pointed her head towards the woods. He got the hint and ran into the trees, I heard the cracking of his bones as he shifted.

Out came a dark gray wolf about half a foot taller than me. He slowly walked over so our wolves could smell each other. His wolf had his ears back and tail wagging lowly in a sign of submission. He bowed his head. My wolf nodded to acknowledge him. I turned towards the woods and nodded that he should take the lead. He turned and took off at a full sprint, showing off.

My wolf growled at the challenge and took off after him. We barked for Felix, but he was already on my tail. We caught up in a moment, she nipped at Axel's wolfs tail, then got up next to him. We dug our nails into the soft ground and propelled ourselves forward even faster. I caught the scent of other wolves that had followed the same trail, so I followed it, whipping through the trees, we just kept running, feeling so free, and we ran at least 15 minutes.

Felix and I stopped when we realized we lost Axel, I could hear him in the distance, and he came to a sliding stop in front of us seconds later. My wolf grinned a toothy grin at him, and he rolled his eyes, shaking his head. His face swung back the way we came, and then he started walking in what I believe is the direction of the pack house.
