I made it to the doors, and up to the second floor, I was turning the corner to head up the last flight of stairs and I see the Alpha walking down the hall in my direction, he smirks when he notices me. I put my head down and hurried up to the third floor. I could hear him on the steps behind me.

"It is a nice view from here." He said darkly.

My hand flew to my ass, I realized he must be able to see right up my dress, and I'm not wearing any underwear! I ran up the stairs so embarrassed, I flew through the door, then closed and locked it behind me. I leaned against the door, holding my breath, waiting to see if he showed up at my door. I couldn't hear anything. These doors must have soundproofing. I waited until I thought he must have passed by and went to his floor.

I let out my breath in a huff and walked over to the bathroom to grab a towel to lay the fox cub on. I scrubbed my hands and waited for Myra to come with the supplies I asked for. She came knocking moments later, and I let her in.

"Could you please set everything up on the table while I prep the cub?"

"Yes, of course, Grace, this is so neat how you can help her, and she is allowing you to."

"I was blessed with this gift. It would be a waste not to use it."

Myra nodded, looking like she was thinking of something. I sanitized my hands and clipped the fur on her front leg to insert a small IV of saline. She yelped when I inserted it, I cooed and petted her head, and I decided to use this chance to ask Myra some questions while I started to clean the fox's wounds.

"Myra, do you mind if I ask you a few questions..?"

"Curious about your mate?" She smiled.

I nodded sheepishly.

"Well, what would you like to know?"

"What is he like, I have only heard bad stories. He seems so gruff and overbearing. I just hope I'm not here for the wrong reasons."

"Well, to be frank, and this is not to be repeated. He can be an ass. I don't want you to get scared, but I want you to actually know what you might be getting into if you choose to do that. Things may differ where he has found his mate and has said that out loud to us, but before now, to my knowledge, he never wanted a mate. He has had many offers from other packs. Many she-wolves throw themselves at him, almost like a quest to conquer. He uses them until he is bored and moves on to the next girl. He has a bad temper, and compromising is not something that I think is in his vocabulary. I have known him for years but haven't hung out with him in many social settings, usually just for pack duties. I can at least say he does take care of this pack. Eli is his best friend, and I hear both sides from him, the complaints, but also the good, or maybe it is just Eli choosing to find the good in him. From my thoughts I want it to work, you seem so interesting and sweet Grace and I feel like you and I could become great friends but I don't want you to get hurt expecting something he can't or won't give you. If I get any information regarding you from Eli, I promise I will let you know."

I sat for a moment, finishing up cleaning the cub before I answered.

"Thank you for that, Myra. I appreciate your honesty. I really don't know all the reasons why I've come here but I'm glad I've at least met you in all of this."

She smiled warmly and nodded her head, her eyes going vacant for a moment.

"It looks like Eli needs a hand with some reports. Did you need anything else, Grace?"

"No, I am good. Thank you again." She turned to leave. "Oh wait, yes, I do have a question. Are we able to cook or grab snacks from the kitchen? I sometimes like to cook or bake late at night."
