S E V E N T Y - E I G H T

I woke up to Gabriel lifting me from the car, I just snuggled into him as he tightened his arms around me.

"Hi baby." I breathed into his neck, I leaned forward and kissed his mark before laying my head on his shoulder. "How was your day?" I mumbled out.

"Hello, my sweet little Mate, my day was long, I didn't sleep very well without you to snuggle." He said quietly in my ear. "I'm glad you had fun, and I am happy you are home." He kissed my forehead. "Now let's get you to bed."

He carried me up the stairs just taking his time as he went. I had my hand on his cheek rubbing my thumb across his lips, just wanting to touch him more. We made it to our room, and he pulled the blanket back and carefully laid me down. I opened my eyes and stretched a bit before sitting up to take off my shirt, I wiggled out of my pants and pulled the blanket back up around me.

I felt the bed sink as he crawled in and pulled me against him. My bare skin danced at the contact as if happy to have my mate back, I rolled over to face him and placed soft kisses on his skin. I rubbed the tip of my nose lightly across his chest, taking in his smell. My wolf was so content we were purring.

I laid my head against his chest and listened to his heart and breathing for a moment. They both started to slow the longer I lay there. I tilted my head back to look at him, and he was sleeping, I smiled and rolled over, pressing my back against his chest to get comfortable and fell asleep in his arms.

I woke up the next morning and stretched, I got up to pee and grabbed my robe from the door when I was done. I opened the door to the balcony and stepped out to enjoy the sun that was coming up. I felt arms come around me as he pulled me against his chest, I leaned into him.

"Good morning baby, did you sleep well?" I asked, looking up at him, and he smiled.

"I slept great thanks to you." He bent and kissed my forehead.

"Are you hungry? I didn't have supper last night and could use some food in my belly right about now. Breakfast won't be for a while, but maybe we can sneak down and grab some food."

"That sounds like a great idea, little Mate." He said, bending to kiss me again.

I walked to the closet as he stepped into the bathroom, I pulled out a pair of boxers, some jeans, and a shirt for him. I slipped on a pair of white panties and a bra before pulling on a simple light blue dress, it was quite short, I wouldn't be able to bend over at all, I grinned and walked out holding his clothes.

He got dressed, and I slipped on some heels before we made our way down to the kitchen. Anna and her crew were in there, making French toast. They paused when we walked in.

"Good morning, Alpha, Luna. What brings you in here so early?" She asked, smiling.

"It seems my little Mate skipped dinner last night and wants to grab an early breakfast." Gabriel replied, smiling.

"Oh goodness, you poor thing, you must be starving, give me two minutes, and I'll have a plate ready for you both!" Anna exclaimed.

"Don't worry about me, Anna. I can grab something from the fridge. There are a lot of hungry wolves in this pack, and I don't need special attention!"

"Not in my kitchen, you won't!" She said laughing. "Grab a seat, honey. I'll have French toast ready in a second."

I just smiled as Gabriel pulled me to an empty prep table and sat me in a stool. I watched as she flitted around quickly, grabbing plates and food from different stations where wolves were working. In under two minutes, she had two plates done up with coffee and juice on a tray and handed it to Gabriel.
