We were waiting for the doctor to come in and speak with us. Mum had joined us and gave me a big hug. She said dad wanted to see me when we were done here. Great... I  thought. He hasn't made the effort to come see me once since last night. Why should I have to go out of my way to see him...

Screw him.  Cammy mind-linked.  Do you know he was mad that I snuck off with the guards to come find you. He was pissed we used our gifts in front of others. They would have all died without m. Without us, you could have died.  She raged.

"He what?" I said aloud, whipping my head around to her, Gabriel and my mum were startled.

Fuck him Gracie, that crazy old man needs to go, it is time he stepped down from his tyrant throne and let me take over. He is so power hungry and manipulative...as if I should hide my powers, what's the point of having them if not to use them. It isn't like we are going off and burning packs to the ground for fun, this was life or death and I saved that old man's ass and all he did was yell at me.  She fumed.

No I will go see him and you need to come too, I was told some things by Gabriel's father and I need to see if they are true. Change is coming Camilla whether he wants it or not.  I narrowed my eyes as I finished.

"Girls, you know it is rude to have conversations behind others backs, how many times have I told you this." My mother reprimanded us lightly.

"Sorry mum." We both said.

It looked like she wanted to see what was so important we had to mind-link and not share with her when the Doctor came in. He bowed to my mother and then to Camilla and myself.

"Well, this is a royally packed room." He said, lightening the mood. "How are you feeling this morning since our talk last night? Now that you have been up and about?" he asked

"I am a little wobbly and stiff."

"To be expected." He said, nodding. "Any pain, tingling, loss of feeling, cramps?"

"None." I smiled

"Good, good. I want to do an exam, so if you could lie back for me please."

I laid back on the bed, and he pushed a lever to make the bed lie flat. He took my sneakers off and started to push and pull my feet.

"Let me know if there is any discomfort or if something feels odd." He murmured as he moved on to the next foot to do the same.

He worked his way up my legs, flexing and rotating them.

"Hmmm, everything is looking good, and you have a good range of motion. You just seem a bit stiff, like you said. That, of course, is normal since these muscles haven't been used in quite some time, but your wolf has at least kept you strong and healing during that time. We made sure to work your muscles while you healed so you wouldn't lose any range of motion. I don't believe physio will be needed in your case, but I want you to relax the next couple of days and take it easy. Get lots of rest, and your body will probably want lots of sleep, so let it. I just want to check your incision sites on your back and hip if you could roll over, please?"

I rolled, and he lifted my sweater to look. His hands ran up and down my back, feeling around the scar lines.

"Everything is looking great. I want you to come to me if you notice any changes even if they seem minor. Spinal injuries can be tricky, so we want to make sure you aren't left with any permanent injuries." He said kindly as I rolled back over, pulling my sweater down.

"Thank you, Dr. Ravings, I owe my life to you and the nurses who spent hours piecing me back together. I heard Dr. Spaulding was flown in to help. Please send her my best, and I will be in touch with her when I can." I mentally made a note to send her a thank you card at least. "I do have a question, though."
