S E V E N T Y - T W O

Robert set me down outside of the room the man was being held in. Two guards stood on either side of the door who bowed to me. I inclined my head as I walked to the door, A nurse was just coming out with a chart in hand before bowing and scurrying away. Robert ushered me in, and I sniffed the air, and it smelled slightly familiar, but I couldn't be sure. I stepped up to the bed to look at him, his face was covered in sweat and his breath was uneven, he opened his eyes then glared at me.

It was Connor Heinrich. Why would he want to attack me? Was he doing his cousin a favor and tried to take me out so she could be Luna of the pack? This wasn't adding up, I never had a good feeling about him but never expected this.

"Why are you here?" I demanded, he grimaced at me and spit in my face.

Growls from Robert and the other guards from the hall echoed around the small room, and they stormed in. I held my hand up to them, wiping the spit from my face.

"You are certainly pushing your luck Connor, now I'll only ask once more. Why are you here?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

He just laughed manically in my face. I looked down and dug my fingers into his broken leg as he screamed out in pain, I released my hand, and he was panting.

"Do you feel like talking, or should I continue?" I didn't wait for an answer and squeezed his leg again as he screamed.

"You'll get nothing from me, Princess." He spat between pants.

"I hope you like looking at his room. You will sit here a long time." I growled, then turned to the guards. "He is to get minimal pain medication, see to it that he is given fluids and nutrients intravenously, I want him kept alive and well." They nodded as I walked out. "I'd like to hold a meeting in the head office. Please send for Alpha Heinrich if he is here visiting as well as Commander Cho." I ordered heading towards my father's office. Well, I suppose it is Cammy's now.

Cammy, I'm using your office to hold a meeting. Now that you are in charge, maybe you should be there too. It is probably best, Gabriel, not be there...

What is going on, Grace?  She linked back, sounding worried.

I'll explain it all when you get down here.

I should talk to Gabriel, too. He will be wondering what's going on.

Baby, I'm going to be a little bit, I need to go into a meeting, could you keep mum company please? 

What is happening? Your emotions have been all over the place this morning, little Mate. What aren't you telling me?  He sounded so worried, and I sighed.

If you promise not to lose your temper, you can join Cammy and come down to the office, but I'm serious Gabriel, you need to keep your cool in this meeting.

If you are saying that I make no promises but I will do my best.

Great... both him and Cammy can be hot heads. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to include them. I made it to the office with Robert escorting me, crap, Felix should be here.

Felix, come to my dad's office now, please, meeting in two minutes.

On my way, Grace, you should have called me earlier, I would have gone on your run.  He sounded upset, but he at least knew some of what was going on.

I went and leaned against the desk. It hurt too much to sit down right now. Everyone I called for started to filter in. Even mum came down to sit on the couch with Gabriel. Once the head of guard detail came in with a confused Alpha Heinrich, I asked him to grab a seat. His guard Brutus stood near the door and bowed to me, I smiled and inclined my head.
