My eyes stayed closed as the Alpha carried me back to the bed where I could smell Hannah and the doctor. He gently placed me down and took a step back.

"I'll be right back." I heard him say. "I'm just going to grab some dry clothes." I heard him leave. My wolf felt sad at the loss of his presence.

"Hi, your Highness, it's Dr. Kate here, how are you feeling?" She asked while she probed my skin.

"Please just call me G-G-Grace," I stuttered. "I am fine, j-ust a little c-cold."

"Your temperature seems to be a little low, most likely from blood loss, let's finish getting you cleaned up then we can set up some warming fluids in an iv and possibly a transfusion if your body doesn't bounce back."

She removed my towel and examined my wounds, which I could feel slowly starting to heal. She poked around and, with Hannah's help, rolled me on my side to look at my back.

"I'm surprised, Grace. Alpha Gabriel did an excellent job cleaning out these wounds, even the deep ones. I will need to throw a couple of stitches in your shoulder where the skin tore, but it should heal up nicely."

I heard her rummaging through a drawer and then came back to my side. She poured a cold liquid on my shoulder, and it stung, I peaked my eyes open to stare at her. She pulled out all the instruments she needed and put on some gloves as she started suturing my skin. I could feel the tugs as she pulled my skin together. It didn't hurt but felt odd. I heard someone walk in the door, and then I could smell him. My brain was starting to get a little fuzzy, I wasn't sure if it was the pain meds, the blood loss, or both, but I was feeling like a million bucks that couldn't move. I opened my eyes again to look for him and saw he was standing at the end of my bed watching what the doctor was doing.

"Dr. K-k-kate, are you almost d-done?" I whispered, my teeth chattered together.

"Yes, Grace, I just set the last one, I'm going to put medicated ointment on your wounds and bandage you up."

"M'okay...that s-sounds g-g-g," I sighed, not able to get the word out. "Nice. That sounds n-nice."

She was quick to apply the bandages after the ointment and said she was going to check on Felix. She nentioned that she would be back in a moment, Hannah followed her out.

"G-G-Gabriel?" His eyes looked into mine. "I-I'm f-f-f-f-freezing." I said as I shivered and my teeth painfully clacked together. Why did no one cover me...

I watched as he brought a blanket over to me, and my naked body was finally covered. How embarrassing...

"L-l-et your w-w-wolf come out-t." He looked down confused but closed his eyes a moment, and then I watched the black from his pupil grow until no gray was left. I willed my wolf forward as well to test a theory, I asked her to try and speak with his wolf.

Testing, can you hear me?  She tried reaching through the mind link.

Hello little Mate.  I heard a gruff voice in my head.

I can't seem to form a sentence, so this is easier to talk.  I said through my wolf.

Are you okay? You took a beating out there. Is your leg okay? You shouldn't have been in that ring.  His wolf sounded angry.

I am just fine, I'll be right as rain tomorrow. I just want to get comfortable and sleep, I don't want to sleep here, can you ask the doctor to discharge me?

I will have to wait to see what she says, little Mate, she is the doctor.

I frown at him, and he bends to place a kiss to my forehead, I can feel the warmth spread across my face. I look up to see his eyes starting to fade back to grey, and when he is this close, I can see all the little blue flecks around his pupil. The doctor comes back in alone, and he stands up straight as she walks over.
