Ian sits down in the window seat and looks out of the window while Todd gets settled. A steel band grips his heart, hard, and it's not just because he doesn't like flying and this is a long flight.
He doesn't really know when it began, either. It's just happened over time. One year Todd was his friend, his best friend, his one line to the normal world when the rest of his life looked so bleak, so weak, so bland. Todd made everything become HD colour. Is that why he's fallen for him? Is that why he started off so confused, until he could deny no more how much he loves him, if only to himself?
It'll be hard, to sit next to him like this, and at the same time it will be the best thing in the world, having him so close. Todd will make him feel safe.
To be honest he has no idea why Todd likes him so much anyway. I mean, why would he? There's not that much to like, really. Just quiet, damaged goods. Todd knows all about him, too, about where he's come from, about his dad... but no. He's not going there, not now. Because he and his friends are going to Taiwan, and it'll be great.
He just knows it will be.

Brett and Eddy are chatting behind them about the competition. The one they won, the one where he got kicked out of the second round. The band grips him harder.
See? Not much to like. He can't even play the viola properly enough. He scowls at the light reflection of himself in the window and turns away.
He doesn't need to see himself right now.
"You want to play cards?" Todd asks him, and he could just kiss him.
Because this is what Todd always does, right? It's like he sees it when he's spiraling down, and he always throws him a buoy, just in time. He takes a deep breath and nods.

He has no idea when they've fallen asleep, but as he wakes up they're some way over the ocean. Todd is still fast asleep next to him, and instantly his dick starts stirring. He tries to stop it, of course, because it's wrong, so very wrong, to be looking at your best friend like that. But he knows very well that he can't. He turns his face away helplessly as he grows to capacity. He quickly pulls his sweatshirt over himself so no one will see, and he can't help himself, he just can't, he runs his hand over himself just once, and shivers.
Oh, Todd. Why the fuck do you have to be this gorgeous, this perfect?
He almost jumps when Todd opens his eyes and smiles at him.
You shouldn't smile at me, Todd. You don't know what I'm hiding.
He tries not to look too pale.
"Good morning. Good sleep?"
Todd gives him a dazzling smile that makes his heart sing and his dick grow more. God, why did he have to fall asleep, and manage to get morning wood? He adjusts the sweatshirt a little. There's nothing he can do about that right now.
"Yeah. Have you been awake the whole time?"
"No, I just woke up. Wanna play cards some more?"
"Sure."
Just as Todd is dealing the cards Brett walks off to the toilet, and Eddy yawns loudly behind them. After a moment Todd turns around in his seat.
"Hey, sleeping beauty." he says lightly. "Thought you'd bring the whole plane down with your snoring."
"Fuck you, Todd." Eddy says indignantly. "I don't snore and you know it. Where are we?"
"In a plane."
Despite himself Ian grins. Todd really is the funniest guy. And his arse looks so good, as he sits on his knees on the seat, looking back. He quickly looks away again as his dick throbs harshly. Todd is not his to ogle. It's wrong, all wrong.
"Thanks." Eddy says behind him. Ian can pretty much hear his eyes roll.

After a second Ian closes his eyes and tries to forget about everything. It'll be easier, once he's off this plane, once he can go to the toilet and take the edge off. He'll be fine. Of course he will be.
