Todd winks at Eddy as the waiter brings the wine he's ordered.
"Yeah, I think I'll just be having one or two of these tonight." he quips.
"You sure about that?" Ian says in his soft, sonorous tone. He puts his hand on Todd's arm and Todd's body responds straight away. "I seem to remember some pretty good consequences of the alcohol."
Todd turned to him and smiles sexily.
"You're right." he whispers. He knows they're not alone, here, but he can't help himself, because something's tickling inside of him. "But now that we're here at last I have other plans for the evening."
Ian's mouth opens slack, and when he glances down he sees he's growing.
Oh yeah.
He's going to make this good. But not yet. He almost whispers all good things... but Eddy beats him to the punchline.
"Yeah, yeah, we get it. Now shut up about your sex life already."
Todd pretends to be offended.
"What, you mean you can't take a bit of friendly competition?"
Eddy grins and raises his glass to him.

It takes some doing, with Ian sitting so close to him, but he manages to take his mind back off what they will be doing later and back on what they are doing right now. Which is having dinner with the greatest friends a guy could have, without whom he'd still be in limbo. So he jokes, and he banters, and he smiles happily as he sees Eddy's cheeks go back to their normal colour, his eyes clear, his shoulders sinking back into their normal place. But Todd knows that there are certain things that will still need to be said out loud, at least once. So when there is a lull in the conversation he seizes his moment and clinks his knife against his glass.
"So yeah, this is not really my style." he starts as he feels his cheeks colouring. "But, Brett, Eddy, I just wanted to say thank you again. Look, you went beyond what could reasonably be expected of a friend. I'll... we'll never forget it. So um... thanks."
Eddy almost starts crying again and he takes Brett's hand under the table, he can tell.
"Of course." he says quickly. "I'm just... real happy to see you guys like this."
Brett - in his usual deadpan style - simply nods, but his large, sober eyes give plently away about how much it's meant to him too.

So they eat, and drink, and eventually he relaxes too. He even kicks his foot out of his sneaker and puts it on top of Ian's, squeezing subtly. The physical reaction is instantaneous, again, and suddenly Todd can barely breathe.
What's he going to do, when they get back to the hotel? Ian has no experience with guys at all, he knows. What will he like? What won't he like? Should he let Ian fuck him?
Todd doesn't bottom very often, and to be honest, he's not a huge fan of it at all. But he knows Ian's only been with girls. So he guesses he'll have to? He can't ask Ian to do anything for him, absolutely not. Anything like that will have to be his initiative.
Maybe he should just massage him, go down on him? Do it the same way as last night?
He shrugs quietly. Look, in the end it doesn't matter, does it? He'll take Ian anyway he can have him. And the way Ian is stroking his hand again now, gently, almost a tease, his mouth just so slightly open so he can see the tip of his tongue... oh God, he could jump him right here.
He tears his gaze away from his love and focuses back on the conversation.

"So, shall we head back to the hotel?" Ian asks as they leave the restaurant, all neutrally of course, but he's not fooling Brett, who grins straight away.
"Yup. Let's."
And he would care, but he's past caring. He's been hard, on and off, now that the boys are happy, clearly, now that the atmosphere is finally relaxed again. He wants in their room, he wants Ian, and he wants nothing else at all. He almost runs into the lift and stops himself from starting to kiss Ian already. He knows he won't make it out of here if they do. They ride up in silence, Todd tapping his foot, his eyes on the lift doors, willing them open. When they do, though, Eddy takes a deep breath.
"So... have fun, guys." he grins.
"Yeah, fuck you too, Eddy." he retorts straight away, fumbling with the key card. "Have a good night."
Brett laughs out loud as he opens their door in turn.

"Good night."
