It was a winter wonderland when I woke up the next morning. I got out of my tent and looked at the scenery. It felt serene, the landscape of the Washington mountains a sight to behold. We felt far away from civilization, but it wasn't so far away from town.

Jacob showed up next to me in wolf form and nudged me in the side.

"He wants to say that he's joining the battle," Edward said kindly. "Seth will be exchanging shifts."

"I like Seth," I said as I scratched wolf Jacob's ear. "And he's a child. He should stay as far away as possible."

"Aren't they all still children?"

"Most of them," I informed Edward. I saw a grey wolf form trudge our way, and I only assumed it was Seth. He must currently be the smallest of the pack as he was the size of an omnibus.

"Will we be able to see what they see?" I asked him. Edward nodded. It must be weird to be tuned in to so many minds at once, like looking at the television of a hive mind. He seemed distant.

I looked Jacob in the eye. As much as I had a grudge against him right now, I at the very least wished him one thing.

"Go kick their butts."

Jacob ran. Seth hid somewhere in the bushes in the case of danger. I wished he could change into his normal form so that I could talk to him properly since our parents may or may not have something going on.

The newborn army had followed my trail to the baseball field only to be met by the Cullens and the wolves. It seemed like for every blindspot the Cullens had, the wolves would be there to help them. Some people tried to run away, but they'd be caught.

"There is no negotiating with them," Edward said.

"Except maybe..." he trailed off. "Carlisle and Esme found someone. She's afraid. She doesn't want to kill -"

He stopped and turned his head toward something he could hear in the woods. I froze as I slowly noticed the red hair amongst the trees. She wasn't alone. The man whom I had seen in the dream, Riley Biers, was there as well. He followed her like a puppy, but their eyes were deadset on the both of us.

Victoria smiled wickedly. Her clothes were scratched from months of running in the woods, and her foot was bare against the cold snow, but the cold couldn't burn someone who was already made of it. This vampire had haunted my dreams and my living days for months, and now she was here. For months I had only dreamt or seen glimpses, but having her materialized in the flesh made me afraid.

"I knew you'd be here," her voice did not fit her face. It was soft, a lot like a bell. "After all, you love him, do you not?"

Jasper had been right.

"You shall pay for what you did," Victoria snarled. "For killing James."

Edward however was looking toward Riley. "You don't need to help her," he reasoned. "She's only using you."

He looked like he was ready to bolt. I knew that Taehyung had made him an offer that he couldn't resist, but I already had a feeling that Riley was not going to make it out of this alive.

"Attack him," Victoria snarled. Riley jumped, but before he could even reach Edward, Seth jumped in mid-air. Seth had caught a part of Riley's shoulder and was already dragging him into the woods. Victoria was startled, as though she hadn't expected the wolves to be helping us.

And she was going to bolt, she turned around, ready to walk away. Anger flared up in my chest. All of this... and she was going to walk away.

"Hey!" I yelled, the growl coming through. Victoria turned around.
