The walls of Dr. Min's office were now of comfort to me. It wasn't usual for a house in Forks to have wainscoting and baby blue walls, but Dr. Min had an exceptional eye for architecture and interior design without making it look bare.
I didn't know where we both stood in our personal lives. I didn't know him besides the fact that he was more or less a family member of Jungkook's. He assured me that that would not interfere with his counseling.
Today, he addressed the elephant in the room.
"So, you skipped school, huh?"
"Is that the big problem here?" I chuckled and drank more of his terrible tea.
"No, not at all. I can write you a doctor's note if needed," he closed his notebook. "Did you get the clarity you needed?"
I got to hang out with Renée and she gave me her blessing to do what I wanted to do. I went to the amusement park which was something I never got to do since I came to Forks. Above all, Renée gave me her blessing.
I nodded. "I think I know what I want to do."
Dr. Min nodded and gestured for me to continue. I took a deep breath.
"I need to find out who I am outside of Bella, the daughter of the police chief. The caretaker of Renée. I think... when I started to help Angela out with the yearbook committee and planning, it was the first time I was doing something I genuinely enjoyed doing, that played into my strengths. I always thought I needed to flip off walls or run marathons to be considered cool. But... I just have to be me."
I thought about changing the tires this weekend, how that one act and one little move made Jungkook say I was cool.
No, it was attractive, he had said. I couldn't think about it. The way he looked at me. Now was not the time to think about him, especially when Dr. Min was in the room.
"I think I'll travel a little bit," I nodded. "Not for the whole year. Perhaps two weeks, and then I'll come back and help out at the hospital. Maybe I'll visit Jungkook once he's settled in Seoul, Angela when she picks whatever part of the UK she wanted to go to."
I saw the corner of Dr. Min's mouth turn and write something down.
"Should I send that information over to Namjoon or will you ask him yourself?"
"I'll ask him myself," I said firmly. "And I'm going to pick a school not fully based on being close to home - no, I'm picking a school."
"I see Mago has finally opened the path for you."
"Mago?" I tilted my head and Dr. Min jumped a little.
"Has anyone ever told you you do the same thing that Jungkook does when he's curious?" he shook his head. "Mago Halmi, she's a deity. We consider her the mother of all things."
"So... she's God?""A form of God. A form of the universe. All deities exist one way or another, it depends on what you believe in. They all have similar characteristics. That is one thing that a lot of the creatures I've met in this area of the world don't understand... they're not the only ones in this universe. They opt to keep to themselves and not live as one with everyone," Dr. Min took a sip of his tea. "Perhaps that is just my condescending way of saying colonialism sucks."
I snorted, "I see you are roasting the Volturi."
"You can't blame Taehyung for trying to end their ideals when they've hunted the children of the moon to near extinction," Dr. Min sounded solemn. "All of us are trying to get with the times but the Volturi stay stuck in the past. Things are getting better, but they make things worse."
