chapter 37

" And what did he tell you about Jacob? " Martha asks while mumbling through her mouthful of popcorn

We sit up here on the bench while waiting for the game to start .

" He was weird in the texts and in person " I say as I take a sip out of my coke " he was too aggressive with Jacob and he literally accused us of sleeping together "

" What ? " she says sounding shocked "You and Jacob ? No fucking way !"

Yeah who would have imagined that ..

" I know right ?" I say scanning the field for familiar faces

" Girl I told you that something is really wrong with him "

" It's my fault , I shouldn't have agreed to that kiss " I shake my head by that memory

" Nah , he must understand what boundaries mean" she states

" I left him on read " I say feeling guilty " he asked me if I'm going with Jacob after the game ,  I don't know I feel bad for not being there for him when he lost " I shrug " Are we going with Kyle and Jacob later ?"

" I don't know ,those kind of parties ain't my thing anymore, maybe we will go to a party that doesn't involve those assholes yelling and bragging about fucking women " she smiles at me " you know a real party " she wiggles her brows

" Yeah right " i scoff " and how are we gonna avoid Kyle and Jacob seeing us ?"

" We are gonna leave sooner " she shrugs " I need to give him a lesson ,  yesterday they were together at a party again and he wasn't responding to any of my texts till this morning "

" Oh so it's a revenge thing " I say smirking

" You can call it that " she returns the smirk

Martha is always skeptical about Kyle going out with Jacob alone , she doesn't trust them at all . I know for sure that Jacob is indeed very dangerous when it comes to women , but he is not a bad influence and for sure he wouldn't push or let Kyle cheat on Martha.

The game starts and people cheer for their teams , but I still can't see Jacob nowhere.

" Um where's Jacob?" I ask Martha who is already focused on the game

" He isn't gonna play today , he is already in the team for the finals since he is the captain " she explains

" And where is he ? Isn't he supposed to be here to at least support his team ?" I ask

" I don't know he said he was going to come " she shrugs at me

That's weird.

One hour into the game , and with the blues finally beating reds I feel I little bit relieved about Aaron. I know how important it is for him to win .

My eyes leave the field and go straight on the locker rooms where I see Jacob walking casually to the benches where the  backup substitute players sit . He is not wearing any gear so that's proving that he in fact , won't play today .

" He doesn't seem very happy with his team " Martha states insure

He doesn't sit on the bench , instead he stands straight with his arms interlocked and his eyes narrowed. He is ready to shout at his team for their mistakes and here or there his shakes his head in disappointment. Just like an angry coach .

When the final score hits and the blues win , I see Aaron jump from happiness and his whole team Hugging each other.

I smile to myself .
