chapter 20

" We're just gonna leave for the weekend, we may as well return sooner " i explain the whole plan to Martha

" And he just offered to take you home ?" She asks mumbling while chewing her burger ,her hand placed on her mouth to cover the view

" Yeah I know isn't it weird?" I ask tilting my head on the left

" I don't know maybe he decided to grow up and not mess with you " she shrugs

" I'm not sure yet " I say as I take a sip of my coke " I will see how it goes , plus I'm doing this for my brother. I really miss him "

It's not that I don't miss my parents, I really do but growing up I was alone with Mike and we grew up together watching each other . My parents are more like the workaholic type of people but they still manage to be there when they should. I mean most off the times.

He is one of my favorite persons and I adore him even if he makes me wanna punch his face sometimes .

" Hey guys " I hear a voice from behind me

I turn around seeing Aaron and behind him some of his friends.

" Hi " I say having a wide smile on my face

He comes closer to our booth , his friends talking with a waitress. He places his palms on our table leaning down .

" Why didn't you woke me up when you left this morning " he says

I dart my eyes to Martha , hers been stuck on me widened .

" Um I didn't wanna wake you " I say with a slight smile

" You slept in his dorm " both of our heads turn to Martha

Her eyes travel from Aaron to me , seeming indecisive of where to stop .

" Yeah " I say with an awkward smile

" Is there a problem?" Aaron asks Martha tilting an eyebrow

Oh no .

I knew she didn't like him but I didn't expect things to get heated between them .

" We are gonna see about that " She replies scrunching her eyes

" Weeell " i speak to brake the uncomfortable silence between those two " Aaron, I will call you later, maybe to go for a coffee "

" Of course, call me later " he says leaning in my face and kissing my right cheek

That movement made me flinch but he seemed not to understand that.

" What the hell was that about "

" He didn't try do anything with me , just to clarify " I corrected

" Aaron Price didn't made a move with a girl , in his dorm ? That's weird " she spits

" I mean he told me that he wanted me " I shrug

" Look I know that you probably like him but I gotta tell you , he is bad news . Not kidding "

" I like him but not that much to hook up with him , but we kissed tho "

Martha's expression turns into a shocked one in two seconds.

" What ?!" She whisper shouts " When did that happen?"

" Before the game the other day "

" You kissed him but you don't like him ?" She questions

" I mean I like him but not like him , like him . I like spending time with him and I do feel attraction for him sometimes but something is holding me back from taking a step ahead " I justify

" Is Jacob that something? "

Jacob?

" Why would he be ?" That question throwing me off guard

" Because he is acting like your protective brother all the time " she rolls her eyes

Oh yeah . That one .

" Um yeah he is kinda the reason " I shrug

More like the ONLY reason .

" I think the reason he doesn't like him is that they had a confliction sometime long ago " she pops a fry into her mouth

" For real ? I thought Jacob treated everyone like his enemy " i state

It's true . I think the only people he likes is my brother , Kyle and his mother . Not even talking about his father .

" He does , but there is something more intense between them . And I think it's from Aaron's side most of it "

" What do you mean ? " I ask

" I don't know , Jacob and Kyle had a discussion about it the other night but they were talking with code names . Like Kyle said ; " you think he is still mad about the thing ?" Like what the fuck is that "thing" anyway ? Or when Jacob replied ; " I thing he wants to take revenge with the other one " I couldn't understand and when I asked they simply ignored me " she dusts her hands together like that was enough to clean her fingers from the oils

Thats so weird. Why would Aaron want to take revenge from Jacob? Revenge is a serious thing ; you don't just get revenge for irrelevant reasons.

I mean that explains a lot of Jacob's behavior. They are practically enemies and I'm the person that's in the middle. Aaron's my friend "more than a friend but less than a couple " situation-ship and Jacob is my - well - nor a friend neither a relative , more like an enemy himself. What I'm supposed to do now that I know why he acts like that ? And with his behavior earlier I'm very confused about how I should treat him . Because if he continues to be more civilized with me - which I somehow feel that isn't gonna be true - then I must keep a neutral stance between those two .

What was " the other thing " tho? Maybe his spot on the team ? I know that Aaron may be a little insecure about that , considering the fact that his team lost yesterday over Jacob's . He was really mad about it .

But Jacob usually doesn't care about a thing. Why would he care if an irrelevant person like Aaron's to him , hates him ? Everybody hates him and he just brushes of because he supply doesn't care about anyone. What makes Aaron's situation so special that he thinks he is worthy of his attention.

I mean does he even like something anymore or he is just as grumpy as always? What would that something be that made Jacob so crazy mad about it ?
