There's a knock at the door and Burt comes in. Blaine never saw the adult that happy but of course he has every reason to be. "Kurt! I can't believe it!" the man says and wraps his son in a tight but careful hug which Kurt returns weakly.

"Hello Burt. I'm glad you could make it that fast. I give you two some time alone now. If you need me, I'm in the cafeteria taking my break but I have my beeper with me so don't hesistate to call for me" Blaine says and leaves to finally have his proper break.

Happy that Kurt is awake and seems to be alright Blaine goes down to the cafeteria. He orders a coffee and lunch and sits down at a free table.

Since he came here it was clear that his priority is Kurt but in a comatose state there's nothing much to do besides regular check ups and talking to the relatives. So he had plenty time for other patients.

Yes he likes his other patients but they‚re all are so exhausting lately so now that Kurt is awake Blaine will spend lots of time with him and all the other exhausting  patients must take preference with the other nurses.

While Blaine finally takes his break Burt tells Kurt everything that happened, starting with the plane crash.

While listening Kurt realizes that even tho he isn't awake that long he already misses to sing, dance and listen to music.

He definitly needs to start his training with Blaine as soon as possible so he's up on his feet again. His voice on the other hand sounds a bit clearer. Still a whisper but stronger. Once the breathing assistance is away his voice will come back.

But about Blaine. Kurt has the feeling he saw him before. But where?

"Oh and there's something I have to tell you" Burt brings Kurt back to reality. "What is it?" the son asks, looking expectingly at his father. He seems nervous and scratches his neck.

"I don't work in the tire shop anymore" Burt says. He's afraid that something could be too much for his son since he woke up about an hour ago. "B-But the tire shop was your life" Kurt says confused.

"I still own it son. But Steven took over because I got a different offer so please just listen while I tell you everything" Burt asks and his son nods but stays silent.

"Okay so I remember how you and Finn often complained about people not taking the arts seriously in high school like Sue Sylvester. Finances, programs, appreciation and god knows what else" he starts.

"About half a year ago I talked to Will Schuester and he told me about Sue wanting to destroy the arts with help of the congress. So I ran against her and I won.

Now I'm a congress man, who would've thought, and I'm just glad that I'm not in DC at the moment so I can be with you " he finishes. His son stays silent, just looking at him.

"Okay I'm done. Please say something" the man breaks the silence. Maybe it was too much for a start or maybe Kurt disapproves that Steven now runs the shop that he still owns.

"Dad I'm proud of you. It's great that you want to help the arts and fought against Sue. I will miss you when you have to go back to DC but we saw each other less when I was stuck in New York because of school so I think we'll manage" Kurt says and opens his arms to hug his dad as good as he can.

Burt hugs his son back and tells "I wanted to decline first because I didn't want to be away from you but Carol pushed me a little and now I'm glad I did it".

"Me too. When do you have to go to DC again?" Kurt asks and his father answers "We have time. I came back just a few days ago and in the summer everyone has plans with their families".
