Part 24

"Should we go looking for him?" Burt asks and Kurt nods "I'm worried that something happened. It's not like him you know?". "Okay I get Carol and Finn and we search together" Burt says and stands up.

They spread. And while Finn and Burt search for him in the close neighbourhod Carol and Kurt go down in the directio of the bus stop since Kurt insisted that he wants to go down and Carol supports him if he needs.

"Blaine!" Kurt calls out, keeping his eyes open for any sign of his boyfriend.

Then, down the street, he spots something. No. Someone. Someone laying on the ground and the closer he gets the more Kurt realizes that this someone looks dangerously like Blaine. It is Blaine.

"Blaine?" Kurt looks at the time. Blaine should've been here by now and Kurt starts worrying. "Dad?" he asks and the man answers  "Yes kiddo?". I'm worried about Blaine. He should be here by now" Kurt tells and his dad looks away from the tv.

Kurt asks and again louder "Blaine!". But Blaine doesn't move so Kurt goes to him as fast as he can and Carol close behind him.

"Hey Blaine" Carol says but the man doesn't react so Carol checks him up quickly for any serious injuries. Then she says "Kurt call an ambulance and then your dad. Tell him we found Blaine".

Kurt nods and while he calls he stares at Blaine, injured Blaine, and wonders who did this to him and why.

Not long after calling Kurt sits in the waiting room of the hospital, waiting for news about Blaien.

Monica wasn't happy to learn that Blaine and his former patient are in a relationship but she likes Blaine and she knows that he doesn't really has anyone so she's okay with him and Kurt.

"He has some internal bleedings, broken ribs, a concussion and a sprained ankle. He has a laceration from hitting his head but else just some scratches. He'll be fine" Doctor Johnson tells and Kurt asks "Can I go to him?". The doctor nods but adds "But he isn't awake yet and sleeps off the medicine. He'll probably sleep until the morning".

"Come Kurt. We go home and I'll drop you off tomorrow in the early morning when I drive to work" Carol suggests but Kurt shakes his head "He did so much for me, stayed over night or even came to me in the middle of the night and that also before we got together. I'll stay here".

"Carol drive home and tell my dad that I stay" Kurt says to the woman next to him. Then he takes his crutches, stands up and asks the doctor "Could you show me the way to his room please?". The doctor nods and slowly walks with Kurt towards Blaines room after Carol said goodbye.

When Doctor Johnson stops he says "He's in there, come to me or one of the nurses if something is wrong or you need something". Kurt nods and the doctor leaves him alone with his boyfriend.

Kurt goes in, closing the door behind him and sits down at the bed. Now he feels how Blaine felt just until a week ago.

He kisses his boyfriend on the forehead before taking his hand, stroking over his palm and asking quietly "Who did this to you honey?". He doesn't know who ever would want to hurt Blaine. He can't find an explanation for that.

The later it gets the more tired Kurt feels and before he even realized it he dozes off, sleeping at Blaines bed. His one hand still holds Blaines and on the other arm he rests his head.

The night passes by quietly. Blaine sleeps off the medicine and Kurt too fast asleep. He gives Blaine time to sleep off the medicine. He has to wake up the next morning. He has too.

Blaine blinks, opens his eyes and fast realizes that he's in hospital. Just not for work but as a patient.

Then he looks down to his lightly pressured hand and sees it's because Kurt holds it. Kurt who sleeps on the stool just like Blaine did the first night he stayed over.

Kurt wakes up from a squeeze of his hand and when he opens his eyes, rubbing them awake he sees Blaine looking at him with a tired smile. "Blaine, oh god hi" he says, first kissing Blaines palm and then bending over to give him a proper kiss.

"Hey" Blaine answers with his morning voice after the kiss. "I get a doctor or someone else to check you up but after that we'll talk" Kurt says, kisses Blaine quickly on the lips again, then takes his crutches and leaves.

Only short after he comes in again with a doctor.

Doctor Johnson says he can go home in two days but come to check ups regulary until he can go back to work. Until that happens he gets a sick note and stays at home.

"There's no way you're staying home alone in that condition" Kurt says when the doctor closed the door after leaving. "And what do you suggest?" the other man asks and Kurt answers "You're staying at my place.

We're not alone, you wanted to stay over for a bit anyway and until you can go home or something your car will be fixed". "You don't have to-" Blaine starts but the younger man shushes him "No. You did so much for me and I want to give something back to you. Also, very selfish, I'd like to have you around more".

Blaine sighs but smiles. He takes Kurts hand and says "I love you", looking him into his blue eyes. Kurt smiles widely and answers "I love you too".

"Okay. I'm staying" Blaine announces and smiles when Kurts face lights up "Yey". He kisses Blaine happily before he goes serious again. There's still something he needs to ask. Something they need to talk about.

Carefully Kurt lays one hand on Blaines bruised chest. Blaine grimaces shortly but the pain vanishes fast and he smiles softly at Kurt who looks at him worried and serious "Who did this to you honey?". The other man opens his mouth but then closes again.

He should tell Kurt. He wants to tell Kurt. But as much as he claims to be over Adam, Blaine knows that if he tells him it wouldn't leave Kurt cold.

"Oh no one" Blaine claims but Kurt raises an eyebrow at him "No one. You just happened to lay like that near the bus stop. Pleasetell me the truth and we'll get this someone for what they did to you". Blaine sighs. He has no other choice than to tell him.

"Adam" he mumbles, just loud enough for Kurt to understand. "What?!" the other man asks, not because he didn't understand but because he couldn't believe. "Adam did this to me" Blaine repeats a bit clearer and he feels the ander rising in him, wishing he could punch his bag now.

"B-But why?" Kurt asks and Blaine tells "Because you used to be his and now that we're together he told me to stay away from you". "But he has Justin now" Kurt says and his boyfriend nods "I know. I don't know why he did it but he did and he had a baseball bat".

"I really hate this man" Kurt mutters. He can't believe how much Adam changed in one year and he can't explain why.

Blaine seems to notice the inner conflict Kurt has because he makes some space next to him and says "C'mere". Kurt does so and carefully hugs Blaine to not hurt him.

"Can we just forget Adam now?" Blaine asks and adds "I'm glad you're here". "As if I'd let you alone here" Kurt laughs, not mentioning Adam anymore "Now it's my time to take care of you Mister Anderson". "Why thank you Mister Hummel" Blaine answers and laughs but stops again. Laughing hurts.

"Okay I think I have to be careful with joking" Kurt states with a worried smiles but Blaine shakes his head "I can handle a bit of pain for some laughing". "My tough, tough boyfriend" the younger says, kissing Blaine on the forehead.

Blaines laceration is on the left side on his forehead, some sratches on his cheek, some at his elbows and hands the rest is all internal.

Blaine will be fine and Kurt will be there for his as good as possible. They both know it.
