Part 9

The next morning Blaine walks in "Morning Kurt". "Good morning Blaine" Kurt answers with a tired smile. "Sorry for waking you up in the middle of the night" Kurt says quietly but Blaine shakes is head "Hey that's why I gave you my number remember?".

"Yeah. I just- Thank you" the younger man says and Blaine answers "Anytime". Then Blaine sits down and helps Kurt with eating while talking a bit as always.

"Sebastian has his appointment by the way" Blaine announces and Kurt looks at him interested "When?". "Next week. I'll help you with breakfast, lunch and dinner and we still do some training but I want to be there for him when he comes, when it's time for the surgery and when he should wake up" Blaine tells.

Kurt nods "I already told you that you can take your time with him and if I need help I call you or some of the other nurses"- "Thank you Kurt. You're helping a lot" Blaine says with a relieved smile.

The day goes by and just like that the next six days.

Blaine helps Kurt with breakfast, lunch, dinner, talking about everything and nothing.

Over the day the boys do Kurts training and everything goes well. Very well. Maybe soon they can start training walking again, as soon as Kurts wrists and fingers are also better trained. And since they also work on that Kurt could try to eat by himself soon too.

Every day after getting changed Blaine goes to Kurt again to wish him a good night.

Every night when Kurt had a nightmare or simply couldn't sleep he calls Blaine who talks to him or hums something until Kurt is asleep.

"Morning" Blaine greets as he walks in with Kurts breakfast. "Tired?" the younger man asks and Blaine nods while putting down the tray. "Sorry for calling you again" Kurt mumbles but Blaine shakes his head "I told you to call me if you need someone. That's what friends are for".

"So why are you tired if it wasn't me?" Kurt asks so Blaine sits down and tells "Sebastian has his surgery today and he's really, really nervous. He's on the edge constantly but yesterday was the worst. It's the first time he has to come here again since it happened".

"Okay then just tell me when you have to go and I wish him the best and that everything goes well" Kurt says and Blaine smiles "Thank you Kurt". "That's what friends are for" Kurt answers. And after that Kurt starts with breakfast and Blaine with helping him.

Just as Kurt is done with his breakfast Blaines phone rings. "Excuse me I have to take that" Blaine excuses and takes the call "Seb?".

"What?"..."Now?"..."But- Okay wait. I have an idea" Blaine says before turning to Kurt "What would you says about meeting Sebastian?". "Ahm...Okay" the other boy answers and Blaine smiles grateful at him.

"I come down and get you. Wait at the cafeteria" Blaine then says into his phone and hangs up. "Sebastian came early out of fear not to come at all now that I'm here and can't push him here" Blaine explains to Kurt.

"Go get him and bring him here. I'm sure we find topics to talk about and maybe I can distract him a bit or something" Kurt says and once again Blaine smiles at him gratefully. Then he goes out of the room and in direction of the cafeteria to bring his best friend upstairs.

"Seb, hey" Blaine greets his best friend who turns around to him and throws himself in Blaines arms. Blaine hugs him back and mumbles "Everything is okay. Come on. Let's go". Sebastain nods, breaks the hug and follows Blaines lead to Kurts room.

"Kurt? This is Sebastian" Blaine introduces when he and Sebastian enter the room. "Hey" Kurt greets and Sebastian answers with a shy smile "Hey. Sorry for interrupting training or something".

"It's okay. I'd be nervous too" Kurt says, signing Sebastian to sit down. Sebastian does so and Blaine smiles at them both.

He didn't saw the Shy side of Sebastian since a long time but hopefully Kurt can help him. Once the surgery is over Sebastian will be his sassy self again.

Since Sebastian took Blaines stool and Blaine doesn't want to get another one he just sits down on the edge of Kurts bed, showing Kurt some little trainings for his finger that he can do while talking with Sebastian. Something little for in between from time to time.

Sebastian and Kurt get along well and Kurt even manages to distract Sebastian at least a little bit.

"Sebastian? We should go" Blaine says after some time and the man nods "It was nice to meet you Kurt. Thanks for distracting me". "I'm glad I could help. I'm sure we'll see each other again some time and can continue our conversation" Kurt answers.

Blaine smiles at them and asks "Kurt do you need somethign?". "No I'm fine. Go with him. I'll call for help if I need it" the boy answers and Blaine nods "In about half an hour I'm back".

Kurt nods and waves both as they leave the room. Then he turns on some music and does a few of those finger trainings that Blaine showed him.

Blaine stays with Sebastian during the process until it's time for Sebastian to go to dreamland.

"Alright Seb. Have fun in dreamland" Blaine says and the other boy laughs the medication already doing it's job "You know what I'll dream about Blainers?".

"No, what?" Blaine asks with a grin and Sebastian answers "About you and Kurt. I know you like him and he's a nice guy". "Seb he has a boyfriend" Blaine answers but Sebastian just laughs "Who cheats on him. I know that deep down he likes you too and he just doesn't know it yet".

"How would you know that?" Blaine asks with a laugh. "I just do. You know what would be perfect name for you?" the other boy asks and Blaine shakes his head no so Sebastian says "Klaine. Get it? Kurt. Blaine. Klaine".

The young man laughs happily and Blaine too can't hold back his laughter anymore. Then Sebastians laughing drows quieter and Blaine watches him close his eyes slowly. "Sleep tight you thickhead" he says with a smirk and then turns to a nurse.

"Tell me when you're done so I can be there when he wakes up okay?" he asks and the nurse nods. The male nurse looks back to Sebastian and then leaves to go back to Kurt.

"Hey. Sorry for taking so long. Seb fought the anestesia, talking non-sense the closer he got to falling asleep but they started now" Blaine tells as he comes back into Kurts room.

"I told you to take as much time as you need for him. Best friends should always be there for each other. Especially in such important moments" Kurt answers and watches Blaine sitting down on the stool and taking a moment to breathe.

"Do you get any visitors today?" he then asks and Kurt shrugs "I don't know. Maybe dad or Rachel or both. I don't know for sure". "Okay. We still have about an hour until lunch. How about some training?" Blaine asks.

"Why not" Kurt says and Blaine smiling Blaine helps Kurt up, in a wheel chair and to a free physiotherapy room. "I'd say back and legs again" Blaine says and Kurt nods "I did some of those finger and wrists things while you were with Sebastian".

"Really good Kurt. We're making progress, you're making progress. Keep going and we can start with practicing eating and walking soon" Blaine praises with a proud smile which Kurt returns.
