Kurt still has two weeks of work left until the summer holidays start. Two more weeks and a bit more time with the glee kids before a bout half of them graduate and leave school.
"Kurt? Can I talk to you?" one of the glee kids asks after the glee class. "Sure Charlotte. What's up?" Kurt says. "Alone? I need your advice" the girl asks and Kurt nods with a worried smile, leading the student to Mr. Schues office and closes the door behind them.
"So how can I help?" he then asks and Charlotte says "I'm... I think- No I'm certain that I'm a lesbian. I like girls and there is this girl and I think she likes me back but I don't know what to do now. How do I tell her that I like her? And how to tell my parents? Or in general how can I come out? Will I get bullied? And-"
"Charlotte. Breathe. Please" Kurt says with a caring smile. "You're pretty sure that she likes you back so maybe just ask her out. You don't have to make a big thing out of it" he then tells "And for the whole bullying and coming out thing I could only talk about my experience. Blaine for example has a completely different experience with coming out, family, friends and bullying".
"Is there a way I can hear both?" Charlotte asks and Kurt thinks for a moment. Then he has an idea "Do you have time at Saturday morning?". "I think so" the girl says and then asks "Why?".
"Okay then meet us at Lima Bean on Saturday at 10am and Blaine and I can both try to help you and give you advice. But still it's different for everyone and you need to be comfortable with what you do, how you come out and so on" the young man says.
"Thank you Kurt. Thank you so much" the girl says, hugging the man and then runs out of the room to leave the school with everyone else and, so Kurt notices, walks out together with a girl who's not in glee but wears a cheerios uniform. Maybe that's the girl she was talking about.
Kurt too takes his bag, says goodbye to Mr Schue and then goes home, calling Blaine to tell him about their new weekend plans and why they do that.
Saturday comes and Kurt and Blaine meet Charlotte at Lima Bean. Kurt pays the drinks and the group searches for a quiet tabel.
First Charlotte tells Kurt that he asked the girl out for a date and that they're going to Breadstix this evening. When Kurt asks the girl if that girl is the cheerio he saw her with Charlotte nods, getting red in the face.
Then Kurt and Blaine tell the girl their experiences about coming out to their friends, family and bullying. Compared to Blaine Kurt always conciders himself lucky. Yes he too went through some shit but Blaine did too if not more and whenever Blaine talks about it Kurt will be there for him.
Kurt tells Charlotte about the bullying in school, Karofsky's threads and locker shoving. He tells her about the support he got from his friends in glee and how they always stood up for him. In his family, from his dad, he also got support and love, getting accepted the way he is.
After Kurt Blaine tells about the bullying from his old school and that they beat him up until he passed out, waking up at the hospital. After that his mom send him to Dalton. He tells Charlotte about acceptance he then got and the friends he finally made in glee and in school general. Then he tells her about his family.
It was a good thing that Dalton was a boarding school because his family situation is best described as complicated. He tells her that his mom supported him but as soon as he moved out they lost contact completely. And he tells her about the hate he got from his dad for being gay. That's why he was glad that he sometimes could just stay the weekends at Dalton too.
But even tho his dad reacted badly Charlotte should still tell her parents. It's an important step.
The group talks a bit more before Charlotte has to go home and instead of going home the couple decides to eat lunch together and talk about how to spend the summer.
With all the help they get the moving in should go really fast. Especially because Kurt doesn't need funiture but only clothes and a few other belongings. If they plan well and move everything quickly Kurt and Blaine maybe still could go somewhere.
Blaine already has an idea to where they could go. "I don't know if you like that idea but you got better again since the airport incident at Nationals. Maybe we could try and go to an airport and this time togehter" Blaine proposes "Only if you feel comfortable and think you can try again".
"I think I am. As long as you're with me. So we go to the airport with which destination?" the younger man asks smiling. "How about New York? You could show me around and we could stay at your left. It's also a good opportunity to go and visit Rachel and Santana again.
I know Rachel comes here this summer too but Santana stays with her new girlfriend and has to work so if we go to New York we could still see her" Blaine proposes. "If we make it to New York of course and I don't turn around before" Kurt mumbles.
His boyfriend smiles softly, taking his hand over the table and says "If not that's absolutely okay too. Also it's still a bit time and you have therapy before. Maybe you can tell Professor Smith and ask him for advice. I don't know for sure but maybe he could give you helpful advices so we'll see what can help you". "Okay. Thanks" Kurt says smiling, squeezing Blaines hand slightly.
