Lifeline

Part 8

The next morning Blaine enters Kurts room tired but happy.

"How are we feeling today?" Kurt asks with a laugh and Blaine giggles "Shouldn't it be me who asks you that question?". "We can both answer it" Kurt proposes and Blaine nods.

"Okay so how are you?" Blaine asks and Kurt pouts "Hey! I asked first". Both laugh but Blaine answers "I'm good. Tired but good because my best friend came to visit and stays for a bit. And you?". "Tired as always but okay" Kurt answers and sits up with Blaines help after he put down the breakfast tray.

"Tired because it's about 8 in the morning or because you and the night nurse still didn't gte along?" Blaine asks and Kurt answers "Both I'd say".

"Okay so my solution is that I'll be there for you. You said that you hoped that after a nightmare of yours she helps you calm down again but instead she just gives you a pill that does that job for her right?" Blaine asks and Kurt nods.

So Blaine continues "I can try to calm you. I'll give you my phone number and when you have a nightmare you can call me and we talk on the phone until you feel better. If you still want a sleeping pill then you can still call the nurse".

"You'd do that?" Kurt asks happily. No more night nurse but instead someone he could actually talk to. "If not I wouldn't have offered that" Blaine says, returning Kurts smile.

After breakfast the two start with the training again, focussing on back and arms, impatiently waiting for lunch because that's the time they decided it's best to finally sit down and get to know each other better.

"I get myself some lunch and coffee from the cafeteria and then we'll eat together and talk" Blaine says and Kurt nods, watching him leave. After the training both are really hungry now and can't wait to finally learn more about each other.

"Okay to be honest I'm a bit ahead of you because on my first day I talked to your dad about you so it doesn't feel like I'm taking care of a stranger or something" Blaine admits, scratching the back of his head.

"That's very thoughtful" Kurt says and laughs "Well you have to tell me somethign about you then". "Okay uhm..." Blaine says, thinking about what he could tell baout himself.

"My name is Blaine Devon Anderson. I'm 23 and even tho I became a nurse now I'm still very interested in music and stuff like I was in high school. As you know I was a part of the Warblers and that's also where I got to know my best friend" he tells.

That's all you can tell me?" Kurt pouts "My dad could've told you god knows what about me". "He told me nothing emarrasing if you think that. He told me something about your high school life and so but why don't you just tell me what you want to know?" Blaine proposes.

"Okay. Did my dad told you something family related about me?" Kurt asks and Blaine nods "He told me about your mom and then about Carol and Finn". "Okay then tell me about your family. Siblings, parents, anything" Kurt says "Oh and about your high school life since my dad told you about that too".

Blaine nods and tells "Dalton has a no bullying policy so I'd say my high school time was better than yours because of the bullying. Your father told me". Kurt takes a deep breath but remains silent so Blaine could continue "As for my parents. Since middle school it's just me and my mom because my dad and us separated".

"May I ask why?" Kurt asks hesistantly but he doesn't need to worry because Blaine nods "I'm an open book. I don't have a problem with talking about it. It hurts sometimes but I did nothing wrong so it's okay to tell people".

He takes a deep breakth and tells "I came out to my parents one year before high school and my father couldn't accept the fact fact that I'm gay. He told me it's a phase and I said it's not. Then he told me if it's not a phase and I'm not turning straight again then I, and I quote 'had a father for the longest time of my life'.
