Lifeline

Part 17

When Blaine looks at the cloock after the second movie he realizes "It's time for dinner". He stands up and grabs the tray for Kurt and something for himself before going back to Kurt. He doesn't want him to be alone too long so he hurried.

While Blaine starts eating Kurt just stares at the food. "Please eat something" Blaine says caring and Kurt sighs. He lost his appetite but on the other side he's hungry too.

"If you eat something now I maybe have a little surprise for you after" the nurse tries again and Kurt looks at him "Surprise?". "Yup. But please eat something" Blaine keeps trying.

Kurt sighs again but nods. A bit won't hurt. He wants to take the fork but just as he grabs it he lets it fall again. "Blaine I can't-" he says, his voice terrified.

He tries again but he somehow can't hold onto the fork like he once again forgot how to do it. He looks at the fork in his lap, a tear rolling down his cheek "I can't. Blaine why? Why does this happen?". He just learned to do it again.

First Blaine takes the fork away before taking Kurts hand "It's okay. That can happen. What happened today affects you and your brain tricks you". "Can you help me? Until I can do it myself again?" Kurt asks, drying his tears with his sleeve.

"Of course" Blaine says and puts his own dinner away. He'll ask Meggy to warm it up and eat later. Insteat he helps Kurt, talking about Mamma Mia while dinner to distract him.

After dinner Kurt decides "I want to call my dad. I don't know if he's busy but I have to tell him". "Okay. Then I'll leave you to talk with him and eat in the cafeteria. Call me if you're done or need something" Blaine says, takes his by now cold food and leaves.

While eating in the cafeteria Blaine calls his best friend. "Blainers where are you? Dinner gets cold" Sebastian answers the phone. Blaine chuckles at Sebastians way to answer the phone before getting serious again "You have to eat without me today. I'm still at the hospital and if I come home it'll be really late".

"Okay. Take care of Kurt. You do him well" Sebastian says before realizing "Shit! The pizza is burning!". Without a goodbye Sebastian hangs up and Blaine chuckles again, this time about the clumsyness of his friends.

"Hey dad. Am I interrupting something?" Kurt asks as soon as his father picks up but he should've known the answer "You're never interrupting. What's up kiddo?". Before answering Kurt takes a deep but shaky breath and alone from that Burt realizes that somethings up "Hey Kurt what's wrong?".

"Adam..." Krt starts, tears already rolling down his face again, "he cheated on me". "What?!" Burt asks. He always thought Adam is a good boy. Someone who doesn't cheat. That's how he got to know him four years ago.

"He and Justin are a couple since five months" Kurt cries and hearing his son cry but not being able to hug him breaks Burts heart. "I caught them kissing in the hallway today when they wanted to visit me" Kurt keeps telling.

Burt balls his hands to fists but takes a deep breath and losens them again. "Do you want me to come home?" he asks but his son says "No. Blaine is here and helps me. I'm fine with him and in a few days you're back anyway".

"Okay. But if you change your mind-" Burt starts and Kurt answers "I'll tell you. I have to hang up now". "Okay. I love you son" Burt says and Kurt answers "Love you too dad".

Now that he talked to his dad he texts Blaine, asking him if he can come up again. He probably sounds really needy and clingy but he doesn't care. He doesn't want to be alone.

Before Blaine comes Kurts phone starts ringing again and he answers it when he sees that it's Rachel and Finn calling him in a group call. "Hey Kurtie. How are you? Could you talk to Blaine" Rachel immediatly asks and Kurt smies at the worry of his true friend.
