Lifeline

Part 15

In the morning Blaine keeps Kurt company at breakfast as always and then helps him with getting ready for his visitors.

When Rachel comes she, Blaine and Kurt sit in Kurts room, enjoying some frishly made coffee from Meggy and talking about everything and nothing at the same time.

Rachel goes when it's time for lunch so Kurt can eat something before Adam comes and Blaine takes his break and she has enough time to do something with Finn before she has to go.

"Okay. Let's go over the plan again" Kurt says and Blaine chuckles "You really want to impress him huh?". "It'd be nice I guess" Kurt answers and shrugs.

Blaine doesn't answer on that. He still doesn't like Adam and the game he's playing and even tho he won't admit it he starts thinking that there's truth in Sebastians words. Maybe he likes Kurt. Maybe a little bit- But there's nothing he could do anyway.

When it's about time the two friends say goodbye and Blaine goes on his position at th ecounter to text Kurt when he sees Adam coming and with him probably Justin because why would they come seperatly if they both want to come to visit.

After that he'll go and take his break, enjoying some more coffee with Meggy. He already ate lunch with Kurt but if Meggy has some more Cronuts there Blaine wouln't say now to them.

Just five minutes after Blaine arrived at the counter the elevator door opens and Adam and Justin step out and into the hallway.

Blaine takes his phone and informs Kurt about the arrival of his boyfriend and best friend.

He hits the send button and gets called by Monica just a second after so Blaine turns around to see what she wants.

Kurts heart beats faster when he gets Blaines text. He takes his crutches and stands up. He can do it.

He takes step for step out of the door and down the hallway to the elevator and counter.

Then he's finally there but what he sees shocks him and his world breaks apart.

Kurt sees Adam and Justin. Kissing. With tongue.

"A-Adam? Justin?" Kurt asks, his voice already breaking. The boys break apart in shock. They got caught.

"Kurt I-" Adam starts, letting go of Justin and a step closer to Kurt but he hisses "I don't wanna hear an excuse Adam". Then he speaks clearer again "Since when? When I woke up you said you waited for me. Was that a lie? How long is this going on between you two?".

On that question Adaom goes quiet but instead Justin answers. He's sick of waiting and hiding. "About five months" he says, maybe a bit too confident for this situation but it's too late now anyway.

That leaves Kurt speachless, frozen in place and tears silently running down his cheeks. But when Adam again steps forward to Kurt he wants to step back.

But it takes Kurt still a great effort to walk, which he forgot at that very moment. He stumbles over his own feet, falling backwards and landing on the floor.

Again Adam steps closer, this time to help Kurt up again but the boy on the ground yells "Don't touch me".

That finally caughs Blaines attention and he turns back around to the sene and immediatly steps in. "Hey! What's going on here?" he asks and while Justin mutters "Nothing" Kurt cries "Keep them away from me".

"You two better go now" Blaine says to the two young man and when they don't move he adds a bit harder and a death glare in the men's direction "Now!". On that both men turn around and go. They don't wait for the elevator and take the stairs instead.

Once they're gone Blaine turns to Kurt and kneels down to him "Come on. I help you back to your room". Kurt could only nod, unable to move in any way.

That's why Blaine picks him up bridal style to carry him back to his room. Kurt wraps his arms around the other man. He doesn't care how ridicculus it looks. Right now he just wants to be back in his room and someone to be there for him. Right now Blaine is that someone.

Once in Kurts room Blaine sets Kurt down on his bed but Kurt doesn't want to let go so Blaine sits down on Kurts bed too and wraps him in a hug.

For a while they just sit like that on the bed, hugging and Blaine comforts Kurt with words and back stroking. Kurt has to calm down first. Then they can talk.

When Kurts sobs finally turned into occasionally hiccups Blaine asks "Do you want to talk about it?". Kurt shakes his head "No. Not really. I just can't believe that he would cheat on me and with my best friend of all people".

Blaine takes a deep breath. He knows he has to tell Kurt and since there is no good moment for something like that it's better that he gets this behind him. "Kurt? Don't be mad now okay?" Blaine starts and catches the boys attention so he continues "I knew that Justin and Adam are together".

"What?" Kurt asks shocked, pushing Blaine away a but. "Yeah. Sorry I didn't tell you but Kurt-" Blaine starts but Kurt cuts him off "No! Blaine go!". "But-" the other man tries again but Kurt shakes his head "Leave! Please. I want to be alone for a while".

Blaine hands his head in defeat "Okay. I'm taking my break. Call me if you need my help". Kurt doesn't answer, just looking down to his hands.

Blaine nods in silence, accepting the situation, and then slowly stands up and leaves the room.
