Lifeline

Part 33

And so, two days later Blaine rings the door bell to Hunters and Sebastians home. It's late afternoon so they decide to catch up and visit Dalton tomorrow.

Blaine was so exited that night that he could hardly sleep but now they finally stand in front of their old school, looking at the uniformed boys going to their classes. Without uniformes the three former students doesn't fit in.

The friends go in, immediatly running into the dean. He recognizes them within a second and starts talking to his former student, catching up on what they are doing now and allowing them to look around and visit the Warblers later during their practice.

First, now that everyone has classes, the friends go to the dorms, memories coming back.

"I remember our late night talks" Sebastian remembers and Blaine says "I remember you sneaking out to sleep in Hunters room". "Hey! Only because I had no room mate anymore because Teilon transferred" Hunter defends himself "If he didn't I would've came to your room instead".

On that the friends start laughing. They had to sneak out while their friends Nick and Jeff, Niff how everyone called them, laughed at them because they were room mates and never had to sneak out.

After that they visit old classrooms, talked to former teachers and even some of the students until it's about time for glee practice.

They come a bit early, the room still empty when they arrive. All three have the same feeling when they come in. Home.

Blaine sits down on one of the couches and Hunter and Sebastian on the opposite. Nothing had changed in here. Like time had stopped.

When a group of boys arrives they look confused when there are three strangers sitting on their couches. "Excuse me? Who are you?" one of the boys asks and Blaine answers "Oh just former Warblers". "Maybe you heared of us because we were amazing. Hunter Clarington, Sebastian Smythe and Blaine Anderson" Sebastian introduces the three of them.

Apparently they really were amazing because now that the group heared their names they get exited, shooting questions at the young men on the couches.

"Okay how about that. We show you what we got and you show us what you got and then we talk about old times and pass our experiences onto you" Hunter suggests and with that everyone is satisfied.

First the former Warblers sing and then the Warbers before everyone sits down to chat. The Warblers are really good but as it turns out they also have a really good enemy. The New Directions. They're not really ememy so Blaine thinks from what he hears. They're just their biggest competition.

Wow. Just like back then. Time really stopped.

Well besides the fact that the Warblers call the New Directions enemy and not competiton and they talk bad, really bad, about them, their teacher and his little help. Will Schuester and Finn Hudson who helps from time to time and is always there at competitions.

The whole time Blaine tries to stay quiet but at some point he can't anymore, seeing in Sebastians face that he just waited for Blaine to say something.

"Guys please let me tell you something. You can either hate me after that or not but I don't care. The New Directions aren't that bad as I remember.

Actually I'm in a relationship with a former member of the New Directions, Kurt Hummel. I'm friends with the former lead singer of them, Rachel Berry. And Finn Hudson? He's the boyfriend of Rachel, my boyfriends brother and I'm really good friends with him" he says.

A strange silence fills the room before everyone starts talking with each other. Some of them now seem to suddenly dislike Blaine while others are okay with that and some doesn't care at all.

Blaine has no chance to say sometihng before his phone rings and Blaine excuses himself when he sees Kurts name on the display "Excuse me I have to take this".

With that he stands up and leaves the room, going to a more quiet corner of the hallway so he doesn't get disturbed.

"Kurt? Hey" he greets the boy who answers "Hey. How are you?". He doesn't sound well. Did something happen? "I'm good. But you're not" he answers, makign Kurt laugh a little before he hears Kurt coughing. He knows him too well.

"No. I'm not good. I have a cold or like Carol says I have the flu but I'm sure she overreacts. But she, dad and Finn have it too. We all have it so I wanted to ask you if you're okay since we spend a lot of time together" Kurt tells. "I'm fine. Should I come?" Blaine asks but Kurt shakes his head although Blaine can't see it "No. You stay with your friends".

When Kurt hangs up Blaine goes back to his friends who decided it's better to go because the Warblers are still discussing furiously because of Blaines little speech. Maybe it's better if the Warblers figure themselves out and the three friends just sneak out.

"What's wrong Blainers?" Seb asks on their way home and Blaine tells "Kurt called. His whole family catched the flu. He wanted to check in if I'm okay". "And noe you're thinking about what?" Sebastian asks. He knows his best friend and already knows the answer. He asked just in case.

"Maybe it's because I'm fine with not working but still miss it a little at the same time or it's because it's the Hudson-Hummels but I want to be there for them and take care of them" Blaine explains. He really thinks it's a mix of both because he actually misses taking care of people quite a bit.

"Are you staying over night and drive back tomorrow or do you want to leave now?" now Hunter asks and adds "The three of us could make some soup  and you could take it with you for them tmoorrow".

"Sounds good. Guess I'm leaving tomorrow. Sorry for shorten my visit. I was really exited" the curly haired man says but his best friends are okay with that and Sebastian says "You take care of your future in laws and we'll se each other some time else again".

Blaine rolls his eyes at the in laws comment but can't help laughing just like Hunter and Sebastian.

Once home the friends decide to first make the soup for the Hudson-Hummels before making dinner for themselves.
