hearing the water drip from the tap to the sink was starting to really annoy taehyung. he could not be bothered pushing himself up from the couch to walk over towards the kitchen to turn the tap off properly. his roommate was an annoying, lazy and easily angered male who did not like talking to the brunette.

whenever the male hummed or started to sing a song while cleaning up, yells could be heard even past the music that was playing through his headphones. he was not fond of his roommate, at times he felt like a maid. he tried being thankful that at-least the male paid his rent on time.

living at the dorms on campus was the safest place taehyung could be, he was not on the streets anymore, he was not spending most nights shivering from the cold and cursing whenever his stomach rumbled — not being able to remember when he last ate.

two years had gone by since he left the pack, two years since his precious grandmother had passed away. at times he wonders what the pack is doing, normally when you move away from home sometimes you get curious to see what your old hometown has been up to.

but no one knows pack's even exist, so there was no way he would be able to find anything over the internet. majority of the time, he felt safe. there were lots of humans living on campus, cafe's were near and shops were as well.

he doesn't have a car, never thought he needed one as buses were a thing where he lived and he quite enjoyed catching the bus. it was nice to have control over his life again, he felt like he was in charge. taehyung had always had a passion for becoming a kindergarten teacher, he loved kids and loved spending every day watching them form and develop their own personalities.

there were not many choices to do any subjects that had anything to do with children. he had english, history, sport and art. sure, maybe art and english could help in some way. things still felt pretty new to taehyung, there were times he stared at a microwave — flinching whenever it beeped.

he made sure to keep every instruction manual for everything he brought, so he has a whole box dedicated to those papers in his closet. one thing he liked about his dorm was that he had his own room, it was not big or super small. it fitted a bed, desk, closet, draws and a tv. the only shit thing was he had to share a bathroom with his roommate.

it was always disgusting, hair left everywhere, piss always on the toilet seat and shavers left over the sink. it always infuriated taehyung, to where he got to a point that he had a go at his roommate for it.

to say luke, his roommate was angry would be an understatement. that was their first and super big argument. taehyung always hated people yelling at him, whenever someone did he always felt his throat get tight and a pit in his stomach swirl as he bit back tears.

when people yell at him now, he just stays silent and back tracks. he backs himself up to a corner where he feels safe, maybe it was cause of past trauma from his pack but he tired to be brave and eventually got to a point where he could stick up for himself.

he eventually found his voice.

so standing up to luke was something he had to get use to, not letting the male walk all over him even though he does often. the bathroom situation never got sorted, so taehyung stuck to cleaning the bathroom almost every second day. it was quicker then spending most of his energy getting into a argument.

there were times that luke would spend a lot of the time in the bathroom and use all the warm water, so taehyung could not shower. he was at-least glad they had dorm bathrooms, just in case. the dorm bathrooms were huge.

there were only two, one for girls and one for boys. there were toilets, showers and changing rooms inside the large bathrooms. the only privacy you could really get in those areas were if you were going toilet or showering.

the shower curtains were a little see-through, if someone were to walk past they would be able to see the back of you, it would be blurry so they would not be able to really see anything but to taehyung it still felt like a huge invasion of privacy.

it was 2020 and in 2018 he left his pack, he spent a year trying to get onto his feet. he felt proud when he had enough money saved from his part-time job to get into high school, feeling happy when he heard about dorms and how he was eligible to apply for one.

at the start he did not care if he had to share with someone or not, it was just more about him having to be careful around a human. his grandmother gifted him a necklace when he was a baby, she gave it to his mother for her to keep until he reached ten-years-old.

the necklace had a purple small pendant in the middle, the brunette always made sure it was hidden under his shirts. his grandmother always told him that the necklace would protect him from any werewolf.

sadly his mother went missing a day after he was born and his father died during a war, his mother was never seen again.

the loss of his mother was not greater pain compared to losing his grandmother, he saw his granny as his mother. she raised him, she only ever cared about him.... she was the only one that cared. shaking his head, he turned his eyes away from the picture frame of his grandmother and him. his eyes focused on the window that had a view of the woods from the highschool.

he loved his bedroom, it described him as a person. his room was decorated in a few posters of his favourite artist and fake plants were against the desk and draws, christmas lights went around the four walls of his room. during the very cold winters he loved being under the fluffy covers of his bed, looking out the window while his christmas lights were flashing.

he let out a yawn when he realised the time, brushing the strands of hair from his eyes as he turns off his lights.

"goodnight grandma, I miss you" he whispered, eyes trained onto the picture frame that was beside his bed. with a heavy heart he fell asleep soon after.
