and max came to visit the girl every day, for the next week. the bruises were healing and the girl was growing stronger. yet max was still the only visitor beside piper's mother. not even steve came to visit the girl, which majorly confused both girls. max had thought there was something going on between the two. she had seen the boy kneel beside what they assumed was piper's dead body. the way he clutched her to his chest. but it was iper last day in the hospital, she would be returning home today.and ofcourse max came to visit her. this time el followed in behind her.

"hello el, max." the girl cried as she leaped from the bed, taking the two girls into a hug, something piper had been doing since she got strong enough to leave her bed.

"hello piper, i'm sorry for not coming earlier." the girl quickly ushered, and she relaxed. relaxing into the arms of an once ill girl. but they tried not to think about that, about what had actually happened in the mall.

"oh it's okay el, glad you're here now!" she spoke as they all pulled away. max and el were here to help piper pack to go home. her mother came through the door with another empty box.

"oh hello, and you-" her mum started as she looked up to the two girls who were standing folding the girls shirts. reminding her she needed to get the girl some new clothes before school.

"max, el.'' the ginger one popped up as el softly waved to the girl's mother. a soft smile written on the girl's face.

"el? that's a pretty name.'' the girl's mother smiled as she handed the box to the two girls.

"thank you mrs parker." el mumbled. as she folded the last shirt, a yellowone with a bumblebee stitched on the breast.

"mary, please call me mary dear." the older woman spoke, she lifted the box, ready to add another box in the car. she was so glad for piper to be coming home.

"thank you, mary." el smiled as max grinned, it was nice to see her talking more. the more time she was spending with max, the more she was opening up. and soon the two girls were crammed in the back of mary's car alongside boxes. boxes of books. the car ride was long but it seemed to be shorter than usual. most likely because of the ginger girl who was screaming the lyrics to a song on the radio.

"so this is your room?" max mumbled as she looked around the room which piper had just invited the two girls in, for some reason she didn't expect that she expected piper's room to be clean, not like this. it had some posters, drawings and polaroids scattered along the walls. it was well messy. and she couldn't help but notice a boy in the photos, only being able to recognize him from the ridiculous hair.

"steve." el whispered. looking closer at the boy in the picture, it was in fact steven 'the hair' harrington. but much younger. piper knew steve before the mall?

and a knock at the window came.
