Chapter 53 - Finale

The next morning

I wake up to the sunlight hitting me in the face. The sound of the distant beach waves help me remember where I'm at. I uncover from the bed sheets and grab a t-shirt off the floor. Carefully and quietly I open the patio door to take a look outside. Watching the morning beach waves feels so peaceful.

I feel a bit nervous. Yesterday's conversation wasn't something I was really expecting, then again I didn't really know what to expect right from the beginning.

I feel so selfish, I don't want to lose Jaehyun. I blame myself though, I shouldn't have reacted so irrationally.

Minutes go by and I suddenly feel his arms wrap around me

"Morning" he gives me a little peak on the cheek as he rest his head on my shoulder
"Morning" I respond

"Why'd you get out of bed so early?" he asks, his morning voice catching me a bit of guard
"Just wanted to get some fresh air I guess"

My back rests on his bare chest as we look at the view in silence. He then proceeds to leave little kisses on my neck, making me a feel a bit ticklish

"Stop" I giggle

He let's go of me and stands next to me, resting his arms on the railings

"We should come to the beach more often. Just the two of us" he says
"We?"
"Mhm"

I feel this ball of happiness build up inside me. I find myself feeling more hopeful for our future again

"It looks like today will be nice" he takes a look up at the sky
"Yeah" I look up

"You wanna go to the beach?" he asks
"I don't have a bathing suit"
"You come to the beach and you don't bring a bathing suit?" he jokingly scoffs
"Shut up" I nudge him

"There's probably stores nearby that sale some" he says
"Okay then" I agree

We spend the entire day at the beach. The time we spent apart made realize just how much I missed him. I knew I did, just never noticed how bad it was. It honestly brings back the good memories we have together. After today we'd make even more good ones

We were taking a break from swimming as we laid a towel on the sand and rested for a bit

"Do you remember the first time we came to the beach together?" I ask him
"Oh my gosh, that? Hard to not remember" he immediately recalls

*Flashback*

We were in high school. We had impulsively agreed to skip school one day and go to the beach by taking a bus. Jaehyun was so scared to get caught and secretly wanted to backout, but I wouldn't let him.

"Will you stop worrying? You already agreed now you can't take it back" I said to him on the bus ride there
"I knew you'd go alone if I didn't" he hissed
"You're not wrong" I wink

When we finally made it I immediately grab him by the arm and walked towards the boardwalk. Unwillingly he followed me.

"Okay fine. But we're only here for a day" he gives on
"As you wish" I give him the biggest grin

"If you weren't so pretty I would've ditched you" he rolls his eyes
