Rafe's POV:
I pull away from wrestling with Topper and Kelce after drowning them both. We all sit back against the pool side, my eyes fall on Nessa who's at the other side of the pool with my sister.
"How are you and Sarah now, Top? You both cool?" Kelce asks Topper who has his eyes on my sister.
"Yeah man. Better than ever." He can't help but grin at the thought of her.
Sarah and Nessa start heading towards the steps before getting out of the pool. We all watch them as they're getting out.
"Man, look at V's ass! She's fucking unreal man." Kelce bites his knuckle trying to chill as he stares at my Nessa's ass which I had my hand on less than 20 minutes ago. Topper doesn't even realise what he said, he's too busy staring at my sister.
"You need to cool down." I laugh at Kelce before grabbing his head and dunking him under the water.
Nessa's POV:
Me and Sarah find a table in a more quiet area and take a seat.
"How's you and Topper?" I ask as soon as we sit down.
"I don't know, I feel like recently he's trying a little too hard. I think he's scared we're gonna break up again after the first time." She looks drained. I'm not surprised, dating my brother must be draining.
A waiter suddenly appears at our table holding a tray with two cocktails. "Ladies, a drink courtesy of the two gentleman at table 9." He points over to a table not too far from us and we look over to see two dark haired guys are sat looking back at us smiling.
"Thankyou." Sarah smiles at the waiter accepting the drinks so he can leave. She starts sipping her drink but I don't even look at mine.
"Not thirsty?" An unfamiliar voice sounds from behind me. We both look to see the two guys who bought us a drink stood at our table.
"Mind if we take a seat?" The other asks politely.
"Sure." Sarah answers for the both of us. I look at her with wide eyes telepathically questioning why she just agreed to let them sit there.
"Sorry about the gesture. We just think you're both really pretty." The one who asked if I'm not thirsty says kindly looking me up and down.
"I'm Sarah, and this is Vanessa." She introduces us both.
"I'm Luke, this is Joe." The not thirsty guy says pointing to his friend joe.
"Nice to meet you both." Sarah replies with a friendly smile.
"Excuse me for a second." I excuse myself from the table politely walking over to the bar and hopping onto the stool.
Footsteps sound behind me before I am greeted by Luke. "You're quiet Vanessa."
"Yeah sorry, I'm not too big on socialising. Thanks for the drink though." I say kindly without even glancing in his direction.
"Look I'm sorry if I've upset you by ordering you a drink, can we start fresh?" He asks pleadingly. I turn to look at the dark haired boy. Why am I shutting him off so suddenly? He was kind enough to order me a drink, he was kind enough to ask before sitting at our table and he has been kind enough to apologise for being so forward.
"It's okay. Nice to meet you Luke, I'm Vanessa." I shake his hand and notice his eyes immediately go down to my breasts.
I suddenly feel an arm around my shoulder. I melt into his touch knowing who it is immediately. "My girls eyes are up here." He raises his voice at Luke causing him to jump at the sight of him. "Can I fucking help you?" He spits carelessly at the stranger in front of us.
"I didn't know you had a boyfriend, I apologise." Luke says sincerely.
"I don-" I begin to tell him I don't have a boyfriend and I don't know what Rafe is doing but I am immediately cut off by Rafe himself.
"Weren't you just leaving?" He growls. Luke holds his hands up in surrender dismounting the stool and strolling over to his friend.
Rafe moves around me to sit in his seat leaving us sat face to face. "What did I tell you about creepy guys."
"He's not a bartender." I blurt out.
He looks at me confused. "What?"
"You told me to stay away from creepy bartenders, he's not a bartender." I grin sarcastically.
"That doesn't fucking matter, Nessa." He quietly raises his voice doing his best to not gain any attention. "Anything could have fucking happened."
"I didn't drink it."
His eyes meet mine still looking lost. "What?"
"He bought me a drink and I didn't drink it." I don't know why I'm telling Rafe this. I don't know why he would care. But I just feel the need to tell him.
"You didn't?" He asks looking almost surprised. I shake my head confirming his question. "Good girl." His face softens as he looks in my eyes.
'Good girl'. I'm a pool of melted butter on the floor just from those two words.
I can't stop myself from smiling at Rafe. "What?" He asks, a smile tugging on his lips just from looking at me.
"Nothing." I grin with my dimples on show.
"Come on let's go join the others before they assume somethings going on, like Kelce did in the pool. They should know nothing would ever happen between us." He scoffs not even realising he's just metaphorically reached into my chest ripped out my heart stamped all over it before chucking it into a wood chipper.
"Yeah I know." I try not to sound disappointed and I manage a small fake laugh before following him to the table where my best friend, brother, Kelce and Luke and Joe are sat.
Rafe just confirmed everything I needed to know. Everything I already knew. Whatever I feel towards him, it has to be nothing because we will always be nothing.
