Rafe has his helmet in hand. He notices me but seems displeased.

"Hey." I greet him with a small smile.

"How's the eye?" He ignores my greeting and instead looks directly at my eye.

"A bit sore but I'll live. Where you going?" I point down to his helmet.

"Just somewhere." He replies bluntly.

"Oh, okay. Will I see you later?"

"Probably not." The final thing he says before stalking off towards his motorbike and speeding off out of the iron gates.

I walk straight into the Cameron home and go upstairs into Sarah's room.

"V! Hi! I'm so glad you're here! Help me choose an outfit for the party tonight." She grabs a pile of dresses off her wardrobe door and throws them on the bed beside me.

"What party? Reggie's?" That's the only person I can think of who's throwing a party.

"Yeah our brothers friend." She goes through her dresses and I say no to almost every single one until she gets to the last one which is perfect.

"Oh I thought his parties were lame and no one was going?" I repeat what Rafe told me yesterday when we were alone at the outdoor movie.

Sarah looks at me confused. "It's just another house party it will be the same as all the rest. And I'm pretty sure everyone is going."

"Is Rafe?" I ask before realising.

She grins as soon as I mention his name. "Yes of course."

"Oh." is all I manage to say. So Rafe lied to me. Why did he lie to me? He obviously didn't want me going to Reggie's party, and now I have to know why.

Me and Sarah are stood at the bottom of Reggie's drive about to head inside the party filled house. Music is booming, lights are strobing and teens are teening. "We look so hot, V!" Sarah spins me round before pulling me to her side our hands remaining interlinked.

"Let's go party!" I chime with fake excitement. I just wanted to get inside to see if Rafe is here. To see if he really was lying.

We walk through the door, I lead Sarah through the busy dancing crowd straight to the kitchen island to find us both a drink.

I grab two coolers twisting off the tops and handing one over to Sarah. She leans closer to my ear. "I swear I've counted about 50 guys looking your way." She nudges me playfully. I shake my head at her with a light fake smile.

I don't care about guys looking in my direction. The only direction I'm trying to look in, is Rafe's.

She takes her phone from her back pocket having felt it vibrate. I notice Topper's name flash on the screen. "Topper is upstairs, you coming?"

"I'll wait here, come find me when you're done. I don't fancy third wheeling my brother all night." She nods understandably at my excuse before squeezing my hand and disappearing into the crowd.

I decide to explore.

and by that, I mean try and find Rafe.

I scan the busy living room but he's no where in sight. I move on to another much smaller seating area which is a lot less busy.

Rafe.

He's sat on a sofa with a girl on his lap. A group of people around him doing lines off the centre coffee table.

Then, he starts making out with her. They're practically eating each others faces off. He may aswell have just reached into my chest, ripped out my still beating heart and torn it apart with his bare hands.

Anger takes over me and I storm over taking a seat on the couch opposite. They stop making out for one second when he checks who just came over, he has to take a second look before he realises it's me. "Nessa."

"Reggie's parties are lame huh?" is all I manage to bark out.

A flash of guilt apparent on his face.

"Yo, Topper's sister! You want a line?" A guy I've seen hang around with my brother on multiple occasions sits beside me throwing one arm around my shoulders and gesturing towards the table.

I hate drugs. I hate peer pressure. But I hate Rafe for lying to me more. I just want to piss him off as much as he's pissed me off. Without even thinking I turn to look at his friend.

"Sure."

"I don't fucking think so." Rafe pushes the girl off him sitting forward.

"She's a big girl Rafe, she can do some coke if she wants." His friend offering me drugs argues with Rafe. As he makes me a line I begin to panic secretly hoping Rafe won't let me go through with it.

"Nessa, can I talk to you for a second." Rafe growls at me through gritted teeth.

"Whatever you have to say Rafe you can say here in front of everybody." I grin sarcastically. The fact I didn't just comply with his order shows on his face as he clenches his jaw in anger.

He stands to his feet grabbing my wrist and dragging me out of the small room filled with drugs. "Rafe, stop! That hurts!"

We halt a far distance from the room and I manage to snatch my hand away from him.

"What the fuck are you doing here, Vanessa."
He calls me by my full name.

"Boy, you most definitely aren't happy to see me are you."

He furrows his brows confused. "What are you talking about?"

"You used my full name. You usually call me Nessa or Ness." I try not to sound too disappointed that he didn't understand what I was referring to.

He shakes his head like he didn't even notice, like it wasn't a big deal, like all those times he called me Nessa it meant nothing, it merely was the fact it was just an easy shortcut. "Why are you here?" He barks still angry.

"I could ask you the same question!" I scoff trying to match his tone.

"You're such a child, Vanessa. Go home!" He orders. I let out a cynical chuckle. "You shouldn't even be here."

"I got an invite! Now instead of caring about what I'm doing why don't you rejoin your girlfriend and do all the drugs you desire but don't bother calling me when you're high."

"Why would I call you when I've got better choices all around me."

Refusing to let Rafe see me cry I swallow the painful lump rising in my throat. Not being able to understand the way he's acting right now, like he's turned his humanity switch off. I simply smile.

"Enjoy, I'm sure they'll wanna kill there self after five minutes around you. Now if you don't mind I think I might go find our friend Reggie and get to know him a little better." I wink.

I can see mental steam exploding from his ears. "Vanessa?" A familiar voice sounds behind us breaking our eye contact.

I turn around to see Luke. Without thinking I grab his face pulling him close enough to crash our lips together. He immediately starts kissing me back and I can't help but feel devilishly happy that I'm doing this in front of Rafe.
