It's been a week since everyone found out about me and Rafe. I've been staying at the Cameron's for the whole week doing my best to avoid my brother. Sarah has been hanging out with the pogues all week giving me updates on how they all are. Telling me some of the funny things JJ came out with, it only made me miss them more.
"Don't be talking to no guys." Rafe orders as he presses his lips to the back of my hand he's holding.
We have just turned up to the kook party. Crowds of people drinking and dancing to the party music booming from the speakers. People diving and cannonballing into the lit up pool.
"Rafe. Don't tell me what to do." I warn him holding his hand and wrapping my other around his arm.
Instead of arguing he smiles down at me hugging his arm as he leads us both through the overcrowded house. He pulls me into a room which is potent with smoke, there's lines of coke spread across the table and people dealing and doing drugs around the table. He takes a seat in an open space pulling me down to sit beside him. I sit with hands together placed on my lap feeling extremely out of place and uncomfortable.
I notice atleast three guys around the table watching me intently causing me to shuffle awkwardly in my seat. "Can't those fucking assholes look at something else." I hear Rafe growl once he notices the three guys looking in my direction.
"Rafe relax. I'm sat with you, not them." I remind him worriedly. I am not in the mood to be in the middle of one of his outbursts right now and I certainly don't want to be the reason someone gets hurt.
He lets out an irritated sigh before going back to dealing some drugs. Still feeling like a sheep in a Cow farm I turn to Rafe. "I'm gonna go get a drink. You want one?"
He doesn't even look at me as he's counting a wad of cash. "JD and coke."
"Be back in a sec." I tell him standing up. He grabs my wrist to stop me from leaving.
"Don't talk to anyone." He warns with a serious expression.
"Stop telling me what to do." I seethe through gritted teeth, returning the warning snatching my hand away from him. I know he cares about me and he loves me but he needs to know he can't control everything I do.
I find the kitchen and make Rafe's drink.
"Hey." A guy with red hair appears at the other side of the kitchen island.
"Hi?" I respond with an almost like question. Confused why he's talking to me.
"Vanessa Parker, right?" He leans on the worktop his eyes glued to me.
"That's me." I smile without looking at him. Instead I begin pouring myself a drink.
"You're really pretty." He keeps talking but I try to show him I'm genuinely not interested.
"Thanks." I reply bluntly hoping he'll get the hint and leave me alone.
He doesn't say anything else before stalking off. Thank god.
"Vanessa Hi!" A brunette haired girl I know called Tasha runs over to me.
"Hi Tasha!" I greet her with a friendly smile. She starts chewing my ear off telling me all about her fresh breakup with her ex boyfriend and I stand looking around the room instead of listening to her.
My eyes land on Rafe.
Rafe POV:
I stand watching my Nessa blow off ginger Jamie before he trudges over to me and Mike. I can't help but beam with pride that she listened to me.
"That chick is giving it up for no one." He scoffs gesturing towards my Nessa who is now stood talking to Tasha looking as bored as ever.
"She's fucking hot man. God doesn't make em like that anymore." Mike whistles raking his eyes over my Ness. I can't disagree. Nessa is the hottest girl I've ever seen, and she's all mine.
"I would love to fuck her brains out." Jamie grins crudely. Who the fuck does this guy think he is talking about my Nessa like that. Only I get to say that shit.
I turn to him taking a step closer. "What the fuck did you just say?" My expression sinister as the rage pent up inside of me is almost bursting at the seams.
Vanessa POV:
I run over to Rafe who is now squaring himself up to the ginger guy who tried coming onto me two minutes ago.
The guy is backing away with his hands up in surrender. His face is as white as a sheet of paper as if he's seen a ghost. "Listen man... I... I didn't..." he stammers before Rafe cuts him off gripping his collar to stop him from walking away.
"Don't you ever fucking say that about my girl again, you hear me?!" He seethes, his eyes murderous.
'My girl'. It has a nice ring to it. I've never liked being called that so much hearing it come out of Rafe's mouth. Although I have to think about this later because Rafe is about to murder the red head kid in his grip.
"Rafe!" I grab his wrist tugging at it for him to let the guy go.
"Nessa, get off. I need to teach this kid a lesson on how to respectfully speak about women, especially mine." He doesn't take his eyes off the overly sweaty, red faced kid still in his grip.
I ignore Rafe and continue tugging on his wrist. "Rafe, please stop. I want to leave. Can you take me home, please!" I plead knowing it's the only way to persuade him to drop the guy.
Rafe throws the guy down causing him to stumble into the other guy stood with them. He doesn't say another word, he just glares at them both vengefully and they both scamper off disappearing into the crowd.
Rafe turns to me, his face expressionless. I shake my head at him with pursed lips.
"What?" He asks as if nothing just happened.
"You're unbelievable." I huff before storming off leaving the party.
I hear footsteps following me with each step my foot meets the pavement.
"Ness, stop." He demands. I ignore him continuing to pace towards home. "Nessa." I chew my lip so badly wanting to turn around and smash my lips against his that I crave so much. "Vanessa, would you just stop!" He yells angrily causing me to halt mid step. I spin on my heels turning to meet his eyes.
"I'm sick to death of you barking orders at me Rafe!"
"Well I can't talk to you whilst you're stomping home, can I?" He spits.
"I don't even want to talk to you Rafe!" I shout.
"What the fuck have I done?" He genuinely doesn't know. He sees no wrong in his doings.
I look up at him with raised brows. "Are you fucking kidding me? Are you just pretending nothing happened back there?" I gesture towards the house we've just walked out of.
"He got what he fucking deserved, you should've heard what he was saying about you. I-"
I interrupt him. "I don't give a fuck what he said about me Rafe. I can't even go to a party without worrying if you're gonna cause some sort of fucking scene. I just give up." I let out an exhausted sigh. Rafe snaps his head to look at me as soon as the words 'give up' fall from my mouth.
"I'm sorry, okay." He takes a step closer, our bodies almost touching. He entwines his fingers with mine. I melt like butter at the feel of his touch. "You don't understand what you do to me, Ness." Our eyes meet intently, I can feel his breath fanning my face. My eyes flicker down to his lips before lifting back to his eyes. He tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear before stroking my cheek with the rough pad of his thumb. "Thinking about you with someone else drives me crazy." He admits.
I stand on my toes reaching to wrap my arms around his neck, our chests flush together. "I'm yours forever, Rafe." I smile softly before pulling him down to kiss me.
