Rafe is the first to pull away.
It's Tom's turn. The guy from the kitchen. He has been trying to get my attention throughout the entire game but I've been trying my best to ignore him. Then the bottle lands on me.
I consider taking the shot but after watching Rafe and that girl kiss, I am feeling spiteful.
"Guess this makes up for the fact I couldn't get you a drink." He grins before crossing the circle to me.
We both slowly lean into each other about to touch lips.
"Oh shit." Rafe blurts out, causing all of us to snap our eyes over to look at him. He knocked his drink over and there is now a large dark stain on the cream coloured carpet.
"God sake Rafe, my mom is gonna kill me." Kelce gets up from the circle and storms into the kitchen slamming cupboards in search of cleaning supplies, Sarah and Topper rush off to help him.
"Guess the games over." Rafe adds smirking between me and Tom seeming overly pleased with himself. I shake my head at Rafe knowing full well he spilt his drink on purpose in order to stop the game so me and Tom didn't kiss. Confused why he'd care in the first place.
Topper and Sarah are trying their best to help get the stain out of the carpet. I get up and walk off finding myself in the kitchen once again. The same drink in my hand which Rafe had given me a while ago.
"Vanessa." Tom greets me again.
"Hi Tom, what's up."
"You look lonely, I thought I'd join you." We both sip our drinks.
"You're very consistent, aren't you?" I joke rhetorically.
He chuckles into his drink. "You seem pretty worth it to me."
I blush at his kind words confused as to what Rafe was talking about because Tom seems lovely.
I place my drink down on the side. "I'm just gonna nip to the restroom, can you watch my drink please Tom. I'll be five minutes tops." He seems way too excited to watch my drink as I stalk off into the crowd watching him from a distance.
I watch him as he scans the room before reaching into his pocket and dropping something into my drink nonchalantly giving it a stir with his finger.
Rafe was right.
I shake my head in disbelief as my feet drag me to the last place I thought I would go.
I don't know why I'm looking for him, but I am. It doesn't take me long to find him sat around a coffee table sniffing cocaine with a group of people I don't know including the same girl that can't keep her hands off him.
He looks up after finishing his line and our eyes meet. I don't know what to feel or say. I don't even know why I came to find him.
"Nessa." He can't take his eyes from mine.
"Get lost. Leave me and Rafe alone, he doesn't want you." The girl growls at me alongside a death glare.
I shake my head losing my patience with this girl. "Don't fucking worry, he's all yours. I didn't realise cheap and nasty was his thing." I laugh sarcastically never taking my eyes from Rafe's.
"Excuse me!" The girl stands up from her seat defensively but Rafe grabs her arm pulling her back down to her seat.
"Shut the fuck up." He seethes at her through gritted teeth.
"Don't worry I'm leaving." Not giving the girl a single glance. I point behind me taking a few steps back.
I turn around bumping straight into a hard figure.
"Vanessa, your drink." Tom holds my drink out for me to take. My heart races with panic. I look down at the drink and then back at Rafe who is still looking up at me. Hoping he can understand what I'm trying to tell him just by the look on my face.
"Erm thanks Tom." I hesitantly take the drink from him looking down at the contents of the cup. It looks cloudy with residue floating around.
"Drink up." Tom forcefully nudges the drink to my lips which makes my glance at Rafe a second time, more pleadingly.
Rafe is quick to push the girl off him to stand up beside me. "What the fuck did you do to her drink!" Rafe violently grabs Tom by his collar.
Tom holds his hands up in surrender. "Yo, nothing bro she just asked me to watch it."
Rafe snatches the drink out of my hand pushing it into Toms face. "You drink the fucking thing then."
Tom shakes his head with an evil grin. "Not thirsty."
Rafe pours the drink over Toms head before shoving him to the floor. "Stay the fuck away from her." He yells warningly.
Tom doesn't waste any time before scampering off like a frightened gazelle.
Rafe turns to place his hands on my shoulders. "You didn't drink any did you?" He looks into my eyes with slight panic.
"No I just came to tell you, you were right." I sigh defeatedly brushing his hands off my shoulders. "A real gem you got there." I peer past him at the girl who is now giving me daggers. Honestly if looks could kill, I'd be dead. I give her a sarcastic smile and a wave which causes her face to become even more sour.
Rafe pulls me back to look at him knowing exactly what I'm doing. He shakes his head at me with a smirk. "What?" I ask him grinning, revealing my dimples. He can't help but smile back down at me as our eyes becomes infatuated with each others.
His eyes look down at my lips and then back up at my eyes. My heart thudding in my ears, drowning out all noise. It's like me and Rafe are in our very own bubble. He looks down at my lips again but for longer before meeting my eyes once more causing my stomach to do flips. He slowly reaches his head down...
"There you both are!"
