I wake up gasping for a drink running to the bathroom guzzling what feels like a gallon of tap water. I see a text from Sarah telling me to go jump in bed with her so we can spend the day dying together. I ask where my brother is but apparently he also came home last night.
I remain in my pjs, throwing my hair up, brushing my teeth and popping on my slippers before heading across to the Cameron's once again.
I let myself in. "V?" I hear Sarah's voice echo in the kitchen. I walk through to see her accumulating lots of different foods and snacks ranging from chocolate, crisps, popcorn, bacon, hasbrowns, toast, fruit and drinks onto a tray.
"Let me just finish cooking this last lot of bacon. I figured we're gonna need food and drinks. Here I poured you a glass of fresh orange." She slides a glass over to me, everyone knows smooth fresh orange is my favourite.
I perch on a stool waiting for the bacon to cook, watching Sarah keep flipping it whilst I sip my juice.
Rafe suddenly appears with her. She has the same clothes on as last night. "Sarah, me and-" he stops himself when he notices me. "What are you doing here?" He sounds annoyed to see me.
"Why do you care?"
He looks surprised I even answered him. "I don't care but don't you have your own house?"
"I invited her Rafe! She has every right to be here just like your little girlfriend. Who, by the way, snores like a donkey!" She doesn't hold back complaining directly to the girl who turns red with embarrassment.
We both make eye contact before bursting out laughing.
"What's funny?" The girl pipes up looking directly at me.
"The fact that you snore like a bulldozer that's what's funny." She looks taken aback that I gave her a response.
"Why don't you go back to your own house!" She raises her voice angrily.
"Sorry who exactly are you?" I ask confused why she's got so much to say.
"I'm Rafe's girlfriend." She snidely remarks.
Me and Sarah both look over at Rafe waiting for him to tell her to stop being crazy. He doesn't. He doesn't disagree. He simply stays silent.
What the fuck.
"Since when?" Sarah scoffs.
"Since last night." She grins. "So you'll be seeing a lot more of me."
"Wow lucky us, might have to scratch out my eyes." I retort and Sarah laughs.
"Is there a problem?" She questions taking a step towards me.
I jump off the stool and take a step towards her. "Yeah you."
"Get out of my kitchen!" Sarah warns her pointing at the door.
Rafe pulls the brunette away and they disappear out the door whilst we can hear her complaining about us.
"What the fuck!" I whine slumping back down on the stool holding my head in my hands trying to stop myself from bursting out into tears.
"She's such a dog, I don't get what Rafe's doing with her." Sarah doesn't realise my deflated state. "I mean who the hell does she think-" she turns round to see me. "What's wrong!" She runs around the counter to hug me.
"I actually wanna die. Why is Rafe with her!"
Her eyes go wide and her jaw drops open. "Is this you admitting you like Rafe!?" She whisper shouts incase anyone is in the house.
"Is it not obvious?" I sigh holding under my eyes forcing the tears to stay away.
"I knew it! Omg you need to be together! We can go on double dates and hang out everyday..."
I interrupt her whilst she gets carried away. "Sarah, he's got a girlfriend." The image of Rafe and the brunette flashing in my mind.
"Oh yeah. We need to get rid of her!" She deviously rubs her hands together.
"No there's no point. Every encounter I've had with Rafe it's always ended in an argument. We just don't work and we're not suppose to work. Plus topper would flip his lid if he found out about-"
"Found out about what?" She stops me and I realise what I was about to say.
"Nothing!" I panic.
"You slept together?" She whispers.
My eyes go wide. "No! Just kissed."
"You kissed!!!" She yells out loud forgetting and goes back to whispering. "When the hell did this happen?"
"Twice yesterday."
"Yesterday!!!" She yells out loud again before smacking her mouth shut.
"It's not big deal I was drunk. We both agreed it was a mistake, or at least I did."
"Rafe didn't say it was a mistake?"
"No he assured me he didn't regret it and he wanted it to happen again."
"He likes you!" She exclaims confidently.
"What?" I look at her with furrowed brows.
"Rafe likes you, V! I bet he's just dating this girl to make you jealous. I can't believe you weren't going to tell me!"
"Sarah you can't tell anyone! I beg of you! If Topper finds out he'll hit the roof and we will never be able to hang around each other again, let's be honest we can barely hang around each other now."
"I swear!" She mimicks crossing her heart and pinky swears me.
"I don't think Rafe will ever like me, he just likes the idea of wanting what he can't have."
"Omg I remember yesterday when he totally embarrassed Luke by knowing exactly where your scar was! How does he know exactly?" She wiggles her brows at me.
I look at her like she's grown three heads. "You don't remember? He's the one that gave me that scar. We were playing chicken in the pool at country club when we were younger. I was on his shoulders and the corner of his goggles sliced my leg open."
"Oh yeah! I remember that!" She laughs at the memory. "I know you and Rafe can't happen but we still need to get rid of that Heather girl, she's the spawn of satan and needs putting in her place."
"If she tries to talk to me like that again I can assure you now I will give her a free nose job that may or may not fix her snoring like a cow."
We both burst into laughter before heading upstairs to spend the rest of the day dying in bed together.
