"Oh hey guys we were just talking about midsummers." Sarah's eyes fall on me and I can feel my cheeks heat up a little. I give her a frown to let her know it didn't go well. "Me and Topper are going together. Are you taking anyone Kelce?"

We all turn to Kelce who has his eyes on me. "Not unless you want to go with me V?" A cheeky grin creeps onto his face. I can't help but giggle at his attempt to flirt. He earns himself a smack up the head from my brother.

"Nice try man." Topper warns him shaking his head chuckling. "How many times do I have to tell you, my sister is off limits."

Me and Sarah look at Rafe who is already looking back at me. I shuffle awkwardly on my feet.

"Shit man, why can't you be cool like Rafe was when he let you date his sister." Kelce complains but his point valid. Why is Topper so against any of his friends dating me.

"That's a good point actually Topper, why can't any of your friends date Vanessa?" Sarah interrogated her boyfriend. I take a seat looking at the floor feeling incredibly uncomfortable talking about this, I don't want Topper starting to get suspicious about something.

"They just can't. I'd rather keep my friends and family separate."

"But she's with us 24/7? We're best friends?" Sarah digs deeper.

"I just aren't comfortable with it." He shrugs.

"Would you not like to have one of your friends at family functions?"

"I already do have my friends at family functions and they're there for me not for my sister."

"So you want to be the centre of attention?" Sarah teases.

"I don't mean it like that but it's not the worst thing. Look V has her friends and I have mine. Besides, apart from Kelce, no one likes Vanessa like that and there's no way she'd date Kelce anyways so I have nothing to worry about. Right V?"

His sudden question at the end makes me break my gaze from the floor. "Huh? What? Oh yeah, nothing to worry about." I fake a smile.

"What do you mean by that? Would you really not date me, V?" Kelce whines causing us all to laugh.

"So Sarah, big 18 is coming up in a couple weeks? We planning a party?" I ask my best friend changing the subject knowing full well she's gonna go to the extreme for her birthday.

"Yeah but dad said I can't start pitching my ideas to him until midsummers is out the way. Speaking of midsummers, you going with anyone Rafe?" I shake my head at my best friends obvious attempt at changing the subject back.

Rafe suddenly looks up at his sister acting cool even though he's just been put on the spot. "No. Not taking a date." His eyes land on me and then move to his friends.

"What about Heather? Are you still together?" Kelce asks. The mention of Heathers name surges a rage of jealousy through me that has no reason to exist. I haven't thought about Heather since I broke her nose last night. I wonder if she had to go to hospital. I wonder if Rafe has spoke to her since.

"Nah we broke it off last night. We was never really together." He sounds like he doesn't even care which makes me internally happy.

"Oh yeah after my sister broke her nose." Topper cheers with a chuckle. Me and Sarah giggle too.

"Yeah that was hot, V." Kelce winks at me with a toothy grin. I shake my head at him.

"No offence Rafe, she was a bitch." Topper tells him honestly. "The way she started on the girls was out of order."

"Yeah I know. Guess you did me a favour." Rafe shoots me a quick wink making my heart flip, luckily no one saw.

"Isn't she still gonna be at Midsummers?" Kelce asks.

"Yeah I assume so, she's a kook right?" Topper answers.

"God that's gonna be an awkward night." Sarah looks at me.

I shrug. "I can always break her nose again if she starts."

"That's my sister." Topper nods at me proudly.

"Just gonna go to the bathroom." I let them know but the guys aren't even listening whilst they're busy bickering about something about their golf session today. Sarah waves me off telling me okay.

I stand in front of the row of bathroom mirrors fixing my hair, adding my watermelon lip balm when the door squeaks open. Rafe walks in making my heart leap at the sight of him.

He strides towards me, dipping his head to press his lips to mine. I part my lips giving his tongue access, wrapping my arms around his neck. He grips the back of my thighs lifting me onto the sink counter.

I desperately cling onto him, never wanting this to stop. He slides his hand up the back of my neck fisting the roots of my hair using his grip to deepen the kiss anyway he can. I trail my nails up the back of his neck into his hair as he pushes himself against me. I pull him closer craving his body against mine.

We pull away breathlessly, his hands resting on my waist as he looks down at me a smile on his lips covered in my chapstick. "I love the taste of you. I couldn't wait till tonight to kiss you again."

My cheeks burning red, my dimples making an appearance. "You're starting to sound obsessed, Cameron."

"If obsessed means I can't stay away from you then you may want to consider a restraining order." He jokes.

"I don't want you to stay away from me." I tell him honestly, my expression serious.

"I'm not going anywhere baby, not now you're mine." He lifts one hand to my neck staring into my eyes intently. He strokes the pad of his thumb across my jawline.

"I was always yours Rafe, all you had to do was open your eyes."

"I know." He huffs almost sounding angry at himself for realising that's all he had to do. "They're open now baby."

"We should get back otherwise they're gonna assume something." I tell him not wanting this moment to become a memory.

"Wouldn't be the worst thing." He smirks playfully before helping me down off the counter.

He opens the door checking around before we both slip out heading in opposite directions. He  goes to the bar, I rejoin my friends.
