Well the first week, which only consisted of three days, of school was a bit of a success. All three days were unequally terrible but I've missed a lot of my friends and some of them I don't see anymore. I am excited to be a junior though, and I'm taking Spanish.
Evie:
I got dressed for school in dark blue jeans, a soft pink tank top with a tie in the front that had dangling tassels, and matching open heels with laces. After I fed Luna, I drove off in my Ford. I parked and then Adam pulled up in his truck with Diana. I headed over and hugged my best friend.
"I miss you being at my house," Diana groaned."I was starting to miss home, it feels right being back there. I feel safe, like my adoptive parents are right there with me. I miss them so much."
"It's okay, you're welcome to come back whenever you want. My dad said you were great company and that he really likes you."
"Tell him I said thank you," I responded. The three of us headed to class and talked almost all day.
After school I went to the boatyard to drink a latte as I did my homework for chemistry."Order up," Adam said. I looked up and smiled.
"Thank you."
"Have you seen him?" He asked as he sat down. I closed my binder and tucked loose strands of my messy bun behind my ear.
"No, thankfully. I'm always searching my surroundings and what's even weirder, all of my run-ins have pretty much been in a car. Maybe that says something, like how he died," I theorized.
"That's a good thought, have you ever hit anyone in a vehicle?" Adam asked.
"No. So why would he be targeting me?"
"I wish I knew Evie, but I will do my best to figure it out."
"Back to work son!" Ethan called from the counter.
"I gotta go, catch you later?"
"Yeah, sure." Adam walked off and I got back to my homework.
After about an hour and a half, three lattes in, I knew it was time for me to get home otherwise I'd drink more coffee and be bouncing all around the walls at night. As if sensing something was about to happen, I didn't step foot into my car and instead looked over in front of it. There he stood, the creepy stalker ghost whom has been following me around and jump scaring me since day one of my arrival."Okay, seriously ghost, what do you want? Can't you tell me anything?" I was beginning to get so fed up with having zero answers. It's exhausting, I've never done anything to anyone nor have I ever been involved in a wreck so why?
"Nothing? I figured. Leave me alone if there's nothing you want from me," I said angrily as I opened the door to my car. It slammed shut and I looked up, I screamed. He stood in front of me with an empty look in his eyes. He pointed toward the boathouse."What? Did you die there?" He shook his head. I thought for a minute... "Behind it?" He shook his head, then pointed to his chest, to his heart. "Alive?" He nodded, then pointed towards the boathouse again. I began piecing clues together.
"The boatyard fire? You were there, and you didn't die in it, so you're alive. You're a witch!" He nodded.
"You're using magic to contact me aren't you?" He nodded. He began walking away, vanishing slowly.
"Wait!" But I was too late, he was gone. At least now I had something. I walked back to my car and instead of driving home, I drove to the abandoned house. There were papers there, newspapers, from around the time of the fire and I went straight to them. Maybe I could find a list of who all was there and involved that day. I looked through them, and I did find the names of who all died, but I already knew that. There was a name that stood out though, John Blackwell. His body was never found.
