It's now thanksgiving break yayyy. School was seriously kicking my ass.
Evie:
Fear slowly began creeping up on me. John Blackwell was alive, we knew this already. But here he stood, in my house. He wasn't even just a ghost, he was actually here. And he knew my name.
I noticed Jake tensed, and I slowly took his hand in mine, locking our fingers together."What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice low.
"You don't need to be scared Evelina, I already told you, I don't plan to hurt you. Now if you give me a reason, that's a different story. Now come on, sit. We have much to discuss."
Jake made the first move, slowly walking over to my couch not at all taking his eyes off Blackwell. I followed behind Jake, and we sat down farthest away from him."I'll ask again, what do you want? And how the hell did you get into my house?"
"Unlocking spell," he shrugged. "You can lock your doors all you want but that won't stop a witch from getting in here. Safety measures 101. Won't do you any good when the witch hunters have a witch on their side."
He looked at Jake with a pause, then continued. "Or.. had." I didn't find it possible for Jake to tense any more than he already was, but I was wrong. His jaw clenched as his eyes fixated on Blackwell. He was starting to get angry."How do you know about the witch hunters?" I asked.
"I've been watching you, obviously. How do I answer your questions if I can't hear you?" He retorted.
"So you're a stalker. Noted."
He laughed. "Call me what you want.. a stalker, jackass, it doesn't phase me. Besides, I have information you want."
Jake's grip on my hand tightened protectively, as a silent message to be careful which path I take. Whether to believe him and go in deeper, or tell him I'm not interested. But that would be a lie because to tell the truth, I was interested."Information like what?"
"Why Dawn gave you up, why Ric and Lucy were so isolated, how to defeat the witch hunters... and about your father."
Chills went down my spine."You know who he is?"
"I do," he paused. "But before we dive into all of that, I want to see Cassie and I want the medallion."
"How do you know she found it?" Jake asked.
"I wouldn't know where you were if not for her activating it. You see, when the medallion is activated by a witch of Balcoin blood, it's like a pull. The energy from the medallion lures me to it, and I'm able to track it's user."
"But Cassie didn't activate it," I replied. "That's what Lucy lied to us about. She tried to trick us into binding our magic to the medallion instead of activating it."
"That spell doesn't work unless the medallion has been activated, Evelina. Cassie activated it the minute she locked the medallion up with the symbol in the basement of the abandoned house."
"How did it get there?" I asked, then I paused. "Unless.. you carved it. You lived inside the abandoned house."
"I stayed around a bit after the fire, yes. When the witch hunters moved on and believed I was dead, I then left Chance Harbor. How are Lucy and Ric, by the way?"
"They're dead. So is Amelia."
He didn't look surprised, which only made my heart pound more. Did he not care?"Like I said, set me up a meeting with Cassie, privately, and then we'll discuss things further. And.. don't tell anyone I'm back, not even your little circle."
Then he was gone. He walked out of the door before I or Jake could question him any more. I sighed, and slumped myself against the couch. Jake relaxed a little, but I could tell he was still on edge.
