I hope everyone's holiday was well last week. I would've published this last weekend but I had to work.

Evie:

I got up, and got dressed for school. I wore a white long sleeve v-neck sweater with a crisscross tie-up on the chest, black jeans, a leather jacket and black heeled boots. I added mascara and curled my hair.
I drove to the school and met my friends in the parking lot.

"My grandmother should be getting in while we're at school," Cassie said. Her grandmother suffered neurological issues from someone using magic to control her mind and erase memories. She had left a while back to see a witch doctor and today, Jane was returning with her mind back to normal.

"That's good," Diana replied. "We still on for the boathouse later?"

"As far as I know, yeah," Adam answered. "I don't have a shift to work this afternoon."

"How are you doing?" Melissa asked Diana.

"I'm fine I guess."
I felt something a little off, but remained silent. The school day went by fast as it normally does. I drove over to the boathouse and got a latte as usual. I sat down, and waited for my friends to show up. We chose to meet here to discuss a plan regarding Blackwell after all we'd learned about him instead of the abandoned house because he lives there and hardly ever leaves.

My friends and Jake showed up, and we all sat in a booth farthest away from other people.
"Well, at least now I understand why our parents' circle hated him so much," Faye said.

"Well we clearly can't let Blackwell control an entire circle of nothing but dark witches. Not that the two of us would join," Diana said and then looked at Cassie. "Right..?"

"No, of course not," Cassie replied. "Look, I don't know what to do about my- our father. But we do need to keep him around for a bit. He's the only one who knows how to create the crystal skull and until we have it, we can't defeat the witch hunters."

"You're talking about letting an evil dark witch roam around free. What if he learns we've uncovered his plan and kills us first?" Melissa said.

"I don't put it past him," Jake spoke.

"Then we keep meeting like this," Cassie said. "I know not stopping him is a bad idea but it's either stop him now and lose anything we have towards defeating the witch hunters, or we deal with them first and my father afterwards. Second option sounds better to me."

"Cassie's kind of right," I told them. "If we stop Blackwell now, that leaves the witch hunters alive and the lead we have will be gone. If we deal with the witch hunters first and then Blackwell, well it's a win-win for us."
Diana looked down at her hands, fidgeting with her fingers.
"Diana is everything okay?" I asked.

Her head snapped up. "Yeah, I'm fine." I gave her a look.
"We'll talk about it later."

"So I know where my family's crystal is, I just have to get it when my dad leaves for work this evening," Melissa said.

"My grandmother might know where it's at," Cassie added.

"That's good, that just leaves Adam and Diana's. Charles probably has it," I replied.

"I'll look for it later."

Adam looked at his dad. "Mine is probably here in the boathouse."
We already had Jake's, and mine and Faye's crystals. That left Melissa, Diana, Adam and Cassie's.

When we finished talking, we all began to leave and Adam went to start his work shift. I stopped Diana on the patio.
"So what's going on?"

She sighed. "My dad is taking me away from Chance Harbor."
