This is the last chapter for the night and then I'll be back next weekend.
I really like Evie and Jake together, but Adams sweet too. But...... you can love them both can't you? Katherine Pierce's most famous words.

Evie:

"Evie, wake up!! Don't make me jump on you," I woke up suddenly at Diana's loud voice.

"Just a little bit longer," I groaned, slamming my head back into the pillow. She took my covers away, and began rolling me. Before my sleepy mind could comprehend what she was doing, my body hit the wooden floor.
"Ow!! Alright I'm up!"

"Good," Diana smiled cheerily. "Now come on, get dressed lazy."

"Bitch," I muttered. I put on black ripped skinny jeans with a green cami top and black suede heeled ankle boots.
The school day was as usual, boring. We went to the boathouse which was part of our daily routine. I got a latte and then sat down with my friends.

"So my grandpa came to visit this morning and before I came here I went home to see him, and he wasn't there. My mom said he just up and left and went back to his lake house outside of town, which isn't normal. Usually he visits with me," Faye said as we all sat together in a large corner booth.

"Grandpa?" I asked.

"Henry Chamberlain, sorry, I'm still not used to having a sister. But yes, our grandfather."

"Maybe he had something to do," Diana shrugged.

"I don't know Diana," Cassie responded. "My grandmother said she was going to head up there to talk to him. I don't know what about."

"I'm not liking this," Faye said. "But if Jane is going to see him then I guess I feel a little bit better."

"It'll be alright, we'll wait to hear from Jane," I told her.
My phone buzzed, and I looked down at it. It was from Jake.

Jake: Meet me at Java Brew in an hour. It's a date.

Me: Okay. Can't wait.

I smiled to myself, and then put my phone down. I've been allowing Jake the space he desires rather than pushing him. Of course I want to know what he wishes to tell me, but if he needs time to figure out how then that's okay.

"Everything okay?" Diana asked from across the table next to Adam.

"Yeah, just a text from-" I sighed. I was about to say from my mom. I wasn't as emotional about my adoptive parents deaths anymore, and I was actually able to handle thinking about it, but the memories of before their deaths still haunt me. "Anyway, I have homework. I'll talk to you guys later."

I took my car today, so I was able to leave without anyone else needing to come with me. I went back to Diana's, and finished what little geometry homework I had. When I was done I changed into something cuter. A white stretchy off the shoulder crop top with dark blue jeans and soft pink lace peep-toe heels.
I drove to Java Brew, another popular place among our friend group, and went inside. I saw Jake, and went over to him. He was sitting at one of the counter stools, so I sat beside him.

"You look beautiful. I mean, you always do but that's beside the point," he said, we both laughed.

"Thanks."
He was wearing his typical look. Dark jeans and a gray v-neck t-shirt.
Jake and I have been 'dating,' I guess you could call it, for a couple days. I haven't told the others because I'm afraid of their reaction, but they'll figure it out eventually and that's the scary part. But I'm happy when I'm with Jake, and as much as I tried not to, I fell for him.

"When do you plan on telling the rest of the circle?" He asked.

"I'm not sure, but definitely not now. We're still dealing with the witch hunters and the last thing any of us need is to be mad at each other. The tiniest argument could go a long way and we could land ourselves right back where we were Halloween night."
